Penelitian telah menunjukkan bahwa media memainkan peran penting dalam pembelajaran dan pengajaran bahasa. YouTube, sebagai platform digital yang populer, memberikan peluang bagi para guru untuk meningkatkan pengajaran bahasa Inggris, terutama dalam meningkatkan kosakata dan keterampilan membaca. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penggunaan YouTube dengan subtitle bahasa Inggris dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca keras siswa kelas delapan di MTsN 4 Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen pre-test dan post-test satu kelompok. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 32 siswa dari kelas VIII-6. Alat utama yang digunakan adalah tes membaca keras yang menilai empat aspek: intonasi, akurasi, pengucapan, dan kelancaran. Data dikumpulkan melalui skor pre-test dan post-test dan dianalisis menggunakan metode statistik untuk mengukur perbaikan dalam kinerja membaca keras siswa. The results showed a significant improvement in students' reading aloud skills after using YouTube as a learning medium. The average pre-test score of 54.06 increased to 72.40 in the post-test, an improvement of 18.34 points. Among the four aspects, the highest improvement was observed in fluency (19.69 points), followed by accuracy (18.76 points), intonation (17.5 points), and pronunciation (17.19 points). In conclusion, this study showed that using YouTube with English subtitles is an effective tool for improving students' reading aloud skills. It also made the learning process more engaging and enjoyable for students. These findings provide valuable insights for educators and researchers, and underscore the potential of digital technology in advancing English language education.

YouTube, as a popular digital platform, provides opportunities for teachers to enhance English language teaching, especially in improving vocabulary and reading skills. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of using YouTube with English subtitles in improving the reading aloud skills of eighth-grade students at MTsN 4 Banda Aceh. The research used a quantitative method with a one-group pre-test and post-test experimental design. The research sample consisted of 32 students from grade VIII-6. The primary instrument used was a reading aloud test that assessed four aspects: intonation, accuracy, pronunciation, and fluency. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test scores and analyzed using statistical methods to measure the improvement in students' reading aloud performance. The results showed a significant improvement in students' reading aloud skills after using YouTube as a learning medium. The average pre-test score of 54.06 increased to 72.40 in the post-test, an improvement of 18.34 points.
