Title : Improving Students’ Reading Comprehension by Using Numbered Heads Together Technique

This research is about improving students’ reading comprehension by using Numbered Head Together (NHT) technique for junior high school students. The objective of this study is to find out whether Cooperative Learning Numbered Heads Together Technique can improve students’ reading comprehension or not. The data for this research was obtained by field research by means of doing the experimental research at SMP PKPU Aceh Besar by designing one group time series design. From the result of the study, it was found that the students’ mean scores of pre test and post test are different. Students’ mean scores of post-test was higher than pre-test score. Moreover, the value of t-test was higher than the t-table (17.55>2.0452), it means that Ha is accepted and H0 was rejected. Indeed, cooperative learning Numbered Heads Together (NHT) technique can improve students’ reading comprehension.
