Pendidikan di Indonesaia mengalami permasalahan terutama siswa tidak memahami bacaan sederhana dan penggunaan konsep matematika dasar. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang ada dan mewujudkan tercapainya tujuan pendidikan nasional, Kemendibud memberikan solusi berupa Implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka (IKM). Konsep dari Kurikulum Merdeka adalah “Merdeka Belajar” bagi pendidik dan peserta didik. SMP Methodist Banda Aceh adalah salah satu sekolah yang menerapkan IKM Mandiri Berubah. Untuk itu penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika melalui IKM pada tahun ajaran 2022-2023 dan mengetahui respon dari pimpinan sekolah yaitu kepala sekolah, waka kurikulum juga respon dari tiga siswa mengenai IKM. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan sampel penelitian dipilih secara purposive sampling dari 47 siswa gabungan VII A dan VII B SMP Methodist Banda Aceh. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa dokumentasi hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika penilaian sumatif di akhir semester genap dan wawancara dari subjek penelitian. Penelitian dilakukan dibulan Juni setelah diterapkannya IKM selama setahun. Data dianalisis dengan langkah reduksi data, penyajian data, hingga penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa 1) Hasil belajar mata pelajaran matematika melalui IKM pada tahun ajaran 2022-2023 sebanyak 21,27% atau 10 siswa dengan hasil belajar dalam kategori tinggi, sebanyak 58,19% atau 25 siswa dengan hasil belajar kategori sedang, dan sebanyak 25,54% atau 12 siswa dengan hasil belajar kategori rendah. Secara keseluruhan 44,68% siswa hasil belajarnya di atas rata-rata 83,29; 2) Respon kepala sekolah dan waka kurikulum setuju dengan adanya kurikulum merdeka karena sejalan dengan visi dan misi sekolah; 3) Respon tiga siswa selama IKM proses pembelajaran lebih menyenangkan.

To overcome existing problems and realize the achievement of national education goals, the Ministry of Education and Culture provides solutions in the form of the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum (IKM). The concept of the Merdeka Curriculum is "Merdeka Belajar" for educators and students. SMP Methodist Banda Aceh is one of the schools that implements IKM Mandiri Change. For this reason, this study aims to describe student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects through IKM in the 2022-2023 school year and find out the responses from school leaders, namely the principal, vice principal for curriculum as well as responses from three students regarding IKM. This study used a quantitative approach, with the research sample selected by purposive sampling from 47 combined students of VII A and VII B SMP Methodist Banda Aceh. The instruments used in this study were documentation of student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects, summative assessments at the end of even semesters, and interviews from research subjects. The study was conducted in June after the implementation of IKM for a year. Data is analyzed by data reduction steps, data presentation, to conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it was found that 1) The learning outcomes of mathematics subjects through IKM in the 2022-2023 school year were 21.27% or 10 students with high category learning outcomes, 58.19% or 25 students with medium category learning outcomes, and as many as 25.54% or 12 students with low category learning outcomes. Overall, 44.68% of students had learning outcomes above the average of 83.29; 2) The response of the principal and waka curriculum agrees with the existence of an independent curriculum because it is in line with the vision and mission of the school; 3) The response of three students during the IKM learning process was more pleasant.
