of this study
is to

whether the use of
animation movie increases
students’
writing
ability
in writing narrative text
. Quantitative approach with
experimental study of
pretest
-
postest control group design was undertaken to
solve
the problems
faced by students in learning
writing
skill. The instrument used to
collect the
data in this study
is
the test in the form of
written
test. The result of th
e
test
is
analyzed by using
writing
criteria proposed by Brown (
2004). In addition,
some statis
tical formula were also
used to analyze the data.
T
he results of the study
showed
there is a significant improvement on students’ performance in
writing
ability after the
animation movie
was
implemented. Thus,
animation movie as
a
learning
media can help t
eacher in increasing students’ writing
ability particularly
in
writing
narrative text.
