The author chooses this title because of the consideration that Video-Based Learning can be an appropriate technique as well as media for teaching writing skill. Therefore, this study is intended to find out how Video-Based Learning improves the students’ writing achievement. This research provides theories about Video-Based Learning, types of video, technique of using video, and procedure of teaching writing by using Video-Based Learning. Moreover, this study presents some previous research findings about the use of video in teaching writing. This study is conducted in library research. The result of this study shows that Video-Based Learning can improve the students’ ability to generate and organize their ideas, and to reinforce their grammatical structure in writing. Furthermore, Video-Based Learning is very effective to motivate the students during teaching learning process. Considering to those advantages, this technique is recommended to be implemented to teach writing. In brief, Video-Based Learning can be a solution for the teachers who want to help their students in learning to write.
