Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan daun pepaya jepang (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) sebagai bahan pakan alternatif bagi ternak unggas karena memiliki kandungan nutrisi yang cukup tinggi setelahmelalui proses fermentasi. Namun demikian daun pepaya jepang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal sebagai bahan pakan ternak unggas, karena mengandung hidrogen sianida (HCN) walaupun dalam jumlah kecil. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai bulan Februari sampai dengan April 2025 di Laboratorium Lapangan Peternakan (LLP) dan di Laboratorium Ilmu Nutrisi, Teknologi, dan Hijauan Pakan, Departemen Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Syiah Kuala. Materi penelitian berupa 45 ekor entok pedaging, pakan komersil Hi-pro-vite, daun pepaya jepang (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius), dedak padi, dedak jagung, bungkil kelapa, tepung ikan, kulit telur, vittok, ragi, air, dan molases. Penelitian merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan 5 perlakuan yaitu: P0+ = Pakan komersil 100%; P- = Pakan komersil 75% + pakan campuran 25%; P1 = Pakan komersil 75% + pakan campuran 24% + daun pepaya jepang fermentasi 1%; P2 = Pakan komersil 75% + pakan campuran 23% + daun pepaya jepang fermentasi 2%; dan P3 = Pakan komersil 75% + pakan campuran 22% + daun pepaya jepang fermentasi 3%. Setiap perlakuan terdiri atas 3 ulangan, sehingga diperoleh 15 unit perlakuan. Parameter yang diukur adalah nilai pH, kadar air, susut masak, dan keempukan daging. This study aims to utilize Japanese papaya leaves (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) as an alternative feed ingredient for poultry because it has a fairly high nutritional content after going through the fermentation process. However, Japanese papaya leaves have not been optimally utilized as a poultry feed ingredient, because they contain hydrogen cyanide (HCN) even in small amounts. This study was conducted from February to April 2025 at the Animal Husbandry Field Laboratory (LLP) and at the Laboratory of Nutrition, Technology, and Forage Science, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University. The research materials were 45 broiler ducks, Hi-pro-vite commercial feed, Japanese papaya leaves (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius), rice bran, corn bran, coconut meal, fish meal, eggshells, vittok, yeast, water, and molasses. The study was an experimental study with 5 treatments, namely: P0+ = 100% commercial feed; P- = 75% commercial feed + 25% mixed feed; P1 = 75% commercial feed + 24% mixed feed + 1% fermented Japanese papaya leaves; P2 = 75% commercial feed + 23% mixed feed + 2% fermented Japanese papaya leaves; and P3 = 75% commercial feed + 22% mixed feed + 3% fermented Japanese papaya leaves.
