Rendahnya hasil belajar dan keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi menjadi permasalahan yang masih banyak dijumpai di berbagai Sekolah Menengah Atas, termasuk di SMA Negeri 1 Bahorok. Salah satu upaya inovatif yang dinilai efektif untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS). Tujuan penelitian ini ada tiga, pertama untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Think Pair Share terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas X pada materi keanekaragaman makhluk hidup di SMA Negeri 1 Bahorok. Kedua, untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Think Pair Share terhadap keaktifan siswa kelas X pada materi keanekaragaman makhluk hidup di SMA Negeri 1 Bahorok. Ketiga, untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Think Pair Share terhadap hasil belajar dan keaktifan siswa kelas X pada materi keanekaragaman makhluk hidup di SMA Negeri 1 Bahorok. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group (quasi experiment). Populasi penelitian terdiri atas 175 siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Bahorok. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas 2 kelas, 34 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 36 siswa kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pilihan ganda berbasis Taksonomi Bloom revisi (C1–C6) untuk mengukur hasil belajar, serta lembar observasi yang terdiri dari lima indikator keaktifan untuk mengukur keaktifan siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Uji - t (Independent Sample t-test) untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Think Pair Share terhadap hasil belajar dan keaktifan siswa secara parsial dan Uji Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Think Pair Share terhadap hasil belajar dan keaktifan siswa secara simultan. Hasil penelitian melalui uji Independent Sample t-Test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 untuk variabel hasil belajar maupun keaktifan siswa, sehingga H₀ ditolak dan hipotesis penelitian diterima. Secara simultan, hasil uji MANOVA nilai Pillai’s Trace = 0,775 membuktikan bahwa model pembelajaran Think Pair Share berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar dan keaktifan siswa sebesar 77,50%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Think Pair Share berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap hasil belajar dan keaktifan siswa kelas X pada materi keanekaragaman makhluk hidup di SMA Negeri 1 Bahorok.

Low student achievement and engagement in biology learning remain persistent challenges across many senior high schools, including SMA Negeri 1 Bahorok. One innovative approach considered effective in addressing these issues is the implementation of the cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS). This study aims to examine three objectives: first, to determine the effect of the Think Pair Share learning model on the learning outcomes of Grade X students on the topic of biodiversity at SMA Negeri 1 Bahorok; second, to determine the effect of the Think Pair Share learning model on student activeness of Grade X students on the same topic; and third, to determine the simultaneous effect of the Think Pair Share learning model on both learning outcomes and student activeness of Grade X students on the topic of biodiversity at SMA Negeri 1 Bahorok. This study employed a quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest control group design (quasi-experimental). The study population comprised 175 Grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Bahorok. The sample consisted of two classes: 34 students in the experimental class and 36 students in the control class. Research instruments included a multiple-choice test based on the revised Bloom's Taxonomy (C1–C6) to measure learning outcomes, and an observation sheet comprising five activeness indicators to measure student engagement. Data analysis employed the Independent Sample t-test to examine the partial effect of the Think Pair Share model on learning outcomes and student activeness, and the Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) to examine its simultaneous effect on both variables. The results of the Independent Sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 for both learning outcomes and student activeness, leading to the rejection of H₀ and the acceptance of the research hypotheses. Simultaneously, the MANOVA results yielded a Pillai's Trace value of 0.775, indicating that the Think Pair Share learning model accounted for 77.50% of the variance in both learning outcomes and student activeness. It can therefore be concluded that the Think Pair Share learning model exerts a significant effect on the learning outcomes and activeness of Grade X students on the topic of biodiversity at SMA Negeri 1 Bahorok.
