Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan strategi story face
dapat meningkatkan pemahaman membaca teks naratif siswa kelas VIII
SMPN 8 Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif, dengan desain pra-eksperimental one
group pretest and posttest. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-7
SMPN 8 Banda Aceh tahun ajaran 2024/2025 yang berjumlah
25 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan strategi story face efektif
dalam meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa. Terdapat peningkatan skor rata-rata
dari 72,40 pada pretest menjadi 85,80 pada posttest. Analisis uji-t menunjukkan nilai
Sig (2-tailed) sebesar 0,001, yang lebih kecil dari α = 0,05. Dapat disimpulkan
bahwa hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (Ho)
ditolak. Peneliti mengusulkan bahwa penggunaan Story Face merupakan strategi yang tepat
untuk mengajar membaca karena visual yang menarik mendukungnya. Strategi ini juga membantu
siswa memahami materi lebih mendalam sekaligus membuat pembelajaran lebih
interaktif.

The purpose of this study is to find out whether the use of the story face strategy can improve the reading comprehension of the narrative text of class VIII students of SMPN 8 Banda Aceh. This research is quantitative, with a pre-experimental one group pretest and posttest design. The sample of this research was class VIII-7 students of SMPN 8 Banda Aceh in the academic year 2024/2025, which amounted to 25 people. The results showed that the use of the story face strategy was effective in improving students' reading comprehension. There was an increase in the average score from 72.40 in the pretest to 85.80 in the posttest. The t-test analysis showed a Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.001, which is smaller than α = 0.05. It can be concluded that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. The researcher proposes that using Story Face is an appropriate strategy to teach reading because attractive visuals support it. This strategy also helps students understand the material more thoroughly while making learning more interactive. Keywords: Reading Comprehension, Narrative Text, Story Face.
