Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan strategi Directed Listening Thinking Activity (DLTA) terhadap keterampilan menyimak siswa pada tema "Aku yang Unik" di kelas V SD Negeri 15 Banda Aceh. Berdasarkan observasi awal, ditemukan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami informasi yang disampaikan, serta kurangnya variasi dalam metode pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu dengan observasi dan tes untuk melihat bagaimana aktivitas siswa dan keterampilan menyimak siswa dalam penerapan strategi DLTA. Penerapan strategi DLTA dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu pra-simak, menyimak, dan pasca-simak. Observasi menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas siswa secara umum terlaksana dengan sangat baik, siswa terlihat aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran yaitu menyimak dengan seksama, memberikan tanggapan, dan menjawab pertanyaan. Tes menunjukkan bahwa strategi DLTA memiliki potensi yang besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak siswa, terutama dalam tiga aspek utama. Namun, aspek menceritakan kembali dan menghubungkan isi cerita dengan dunia nyata memerlukan perhatian lebih pada pembelajaran selanjutnya.penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi DLTA secara keseluruhan terlaksana dengan baik dan memenuhi setiap aspek yang diharapkan, meskipun terdapat beberapa aspek yang belum terlaksana secara maksimal. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap pengembangan keterampilan menyimak siswa di sekolah dasar.

ABSTRACT Salwihas, Ummi. (2024). The Application of the Directed Listening Thinking Activity (DLTA) Strategy on Students' Listening Skills in the Theme "Aku yang Unik" for Grade V at SD Negeri 15 Banda Aceh. [Undergraduate Thesis, Syiah Kuala University]. Under the supervision of Mislinawaty, S.PdI, M.Pd., and Hasniyati, M.Pd. This study aims to describe the application of the Directed Listening Thinking Activity (DLTA) strategy to enhance students' listening skills on the theme "Aku yang Unik" in the fifth grade at SD Negeri 15 Banda Aceh. Preliminary observations revealed that students struggled to comprehend conveyed information and that the teaching methods used lacked variety. Data collection techniques in this study included observation and tests to examine how the DLTA strategy impacts students' listening skills. The application of the DLTA strategy was conducted in three stages: pre-listening, listening, and post-listening. Observations indicated that student activities were generally conducted very well. Students appeared active during the learning process, attentively listening, providing feedback, and answering questions. The test results demonstrated that the DLTA strategy has significant potential to improve students' listening skills, particularly in three key aspects. However, the aspects of retelling and connecting the story's content to real life require more attention in future lessons. The study showed that the implementation of the DLTA strategy was overall successful and addressed the expected aspects, although some areas still need improvement. This research is expected to contribute positively to the development of listening skills among elementary school students.
