Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kota Banda Aceh pada bulan februari 2024. Jenis data yang digunakan data primer dari observasi dan wawancara, dan kemudian data dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk mengetahui tingkat kompetensi petani dan analisis rank spearman untuk menganalisis faktor – faktor apa saja yang berhubungan dengan kompetensi petani urban farming di Kota Banda Aceh. Penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan metode snowball sampling dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 18 orang petani yang melakukan usahatani urban farming. Sampel diperoleh melalui proses bergulir dari informasi satu responden ke responden yang lainnya. Adapun informan kunci dalam penelitian ini adalah usaha “Ruhul Hidroponik” yang memiliki jaringan terkait usaha urban farming di Kota Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa tingkat kompetensi petani urban farming di Kota Banda Aceh tergolong pada kategori tinggi dengan persentase sebesar 86,82%. Selain itu pada faktor – faktor yang berhubungan dengan kompetensi petani urban farming, ditemukan bahwa pada Pada karakteristik terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dan positif antara jumlah netpot dengan kompetensi. Sedangkan yang tidak memiliki hubungan yang signifikan namun postif dengan kompetensi yaitu tingkat pendidikan dan pengalaman. Umur dan jumlah tanggungan tidak memiliki hubungan dengan kompetensi dan berkorelasi negatif Tingkat interaksi antar petani dan tingkat interaksi dengan petani memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dan positif dengan kompetensi. Interaksi dengan penyuluh memiliki hubungan yang tidak signifikan namun positif dengan kompetensi. Sedangkan interaksi petani dengan konsumen memiliki hubungan yang tidak signifikan dan memiliki hubungan yang negatif dengan kompetensi

This research was conducted in Banda Aceh City in February 2024. The type of data used was primary data from observation and interviews, and then the data was analyzed descriptively to determine the level of farmer competence and Spearman rank analysis to analyze what factors were related to the competence of urban farming farmers in Banda Aceh City. The sample determination was carried out using the snowball sampling method with a total of 18 respondents who were farmers who were doing urban farming. The sample was obtained through a rolling process from information from one respondent to another. The key informant in this study was the "Ruhul Hidroponik" business which has a network related to urban farming businesses in Banda Aceh City. This study found that the level of competence of urban farming farmers in Banda Aceh City was classified as high with a percentage of 86.82%. In addition, in the factors related to the competence of urban farming farmers, it was found that in the characteristics there was a significant and positive correlation between the number of netpots and competence. While those that do not have a significant but positive correlation with competence are the level of education and experience. Age and number of dependents have no correlation with competence and are negatively correlated. The level of interaction between farmers and the level of interaction with farmers have a significant and positive correlation with competence. Interaction with extension workers has an insignificant but positive correlation with competence. While farmer interaction with consumers has an insignificant correlation and has a negative correlation with competence.
