Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tindak tutur mengenai jenis tindak ilokusi dan tindak perlokusi yang dilakukan oleh Neytiri, tokoh utama wanita dalam Avatar: The Way of Water, berdasarkan klasifikasi Searle dan fungsi tindak ilokusi berdasarkan teori Leech. Datanya berbentuk deskripsi karena penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Subyek penelitian ini adalah film Avatar: The Way of Water. Ucapan Neytiri adalah objeknya. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada lima jenis tindak ilokusi yang ditemukan dalam film. Yaitu: asertif (24 ucapan), direktif (33 ucapan), komisif (4 ucapan), ekspresif (12 ucapan), dan deklaratif (1 ucapan). Tipe direktif merupakan tipe yang paling dominan digunakan oleh Neytiri, kemungkinan besar karena genre film yang diteliti adalah action dan petualangan. Dari segi tindak perlokusi, hanya ditemukan empat efek dari tuturan Neytiri yang cenderung meyakinkan, membujuk, menakut-nakuti, dan menghibur pendengarnya, sedangkan tidak ditemukan ujaran yang mengganggu pendengar. Selain itu, fungsi tindak ilokusi ditemukan terdiri dari 34 contoh kompetitif, yang merupakan fungsi dominan yang muncul berdasarkan ujaran Neytiri, 6 contoh ramah, 24 contoh kolaboratif, dan 10 contoh konflik. Semua data ditentukan oleh konteks situasi. Penelitian ini dapat memberikan implikasi dalam Pengajaran Bahasa Inggris (ELT) mengenai tindak tutur berdasarkan materi Bahasa Inggris dalam Kurikulum Merdeka.

Under the supervision Dr. Siti Sarah Fitriani, S.Pd., M.A. and Dr. Dohra Fitrisia, S.Pd., M.Ed. This research aims to analyze speech acts regarding the types of illocutionary acts and perlocutionary acts performed by Neytiri, the main female character in Avatar: The Way of Water, based on Searle’s classification and the function of illocutionary acts based on Leech’s theory. The data are in the form of descriptions because this research uses a qualitative method. The subject of this research is the movie Avatar: The Way of Water. Neytiri’s utterances are the object. The findings of this research show that there are five types of illocutionary acts found in the movie. They are: assertives (24 utterances), directives (33 utterances), commissives (4 utterances), expressives (12 utterances), and declaratives (1 utterance). The directive type is the most dominant used by Neytiri, likely because the genre of the movie under study is action and adventure. In terms of perlocutionary acts, only four effects from Neytiri's utterances were found, which tend to convince, persuade, frighten, and amuse the listeners, while no utterances were found to annoy the listener. In addition, the functions of illocutionary acts were found to consist of 34 competitive instances, which are the dominant function occurring based on Neytiri’s utterances, 6 convivial instances, 24 collaborative instances, and 10 conflictive instances. All the data were determined by the context of the situation. This research can have implications in English Language Teaching (ELT) regarding speech acts based on English material in the Merdeka Curriculum.
