Salah satu kemampuan matematis yang harus dimiliki siswa adalah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Pemecahan masalah merupakan suatu proses untuk mengatasi kesulitan – kesulitan yang dihadapi untuk mencapai tujuan yang di harapkan. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah menjadi salah satu tujuan pembelajaran matematika yang harus dicapai oleh siswa untuk menyelesaikan soal – soal berbasis masalah. Namun, pada kenyataanya masih terdapat siswa yang belum memahami cara menyelesaikan soal cerita. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana pengaruh model problem based learning terhadap kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah pada materi luas bangun datar siswa kelas IV SDN Lambaro Angan Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pemdekatan kuantitatif jenis Quasi Eksperimen Design dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SDN Lambaro Angan dengan jumlah siswa 53 orang. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah kelas IV-A dengan jumlah 27 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas IB-B dengan jumlah 26 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol, melalui teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling dari dua kelas yang tersedia. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dalam bentuk pretest dan posttest. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan Software SPSS versi 25 dan pengujian hipotesis uji Independent Sample t-test. Perolehan nilai analisis data statistik Uji N-Gain Score dengan nilai rata – rata 0,70 ≤ 0,70 termasuk kedalam kategori cukup efektif. Dan uji Independent Sample t-test dengan nilai signifikan (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, maka kriteria pengambilan keputusan yaitu H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model problrm based learning (PBL) berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita pada materi luas bangun datar siswa kelas IV SDN Lambaro Angan Aceh Besar.

One of the mathematical abilities that students must have is the ability to solve mathematical problems. Problem solving is a process of overcoming the difficulties faced to achieve the expected goals. Problem solving ability is one of the mathematics learning goals that must be achieved by students to solve problem-based problems. However, in reality there are still students who do not understand how to solve story problems. So this research aims to analyze the influence of the problem based learning model on the ability to solve problems on the subject of area of ​​flat shapes for class IV students at SDN Lambaro Angan Aceh Besar. This research uses a quantitative approach using the Quasi Experimental Design type with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all class IV students at SDN Lambaro Angan with a total of 53 students. The sample in this study was class IV-A with a total of 27 students as the experimental class and class IB-B students with a total of 26 students as the control class, using a purposive sampling technique from the two available classes. Data collection techniques use tests in the form of pretest and posttest. The data analysis technique in this research uses SPSS version 25 software and Independent Sample t-test hypothesis testing. Obtaining statistical data analysis values ​​from the N-Gain Score Test with an average value of 0.70 ≤ 0.70 is included in the quite effective category. And the Independent Sample t-test with a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, then the decision making criteria are H1 accepted and H0 rejected. So it can be concluded that the problrm based learning (PBL) model influences the ability to solve story problems in material on the area of ​​flat shapes for class IV students at SDN Lambaro Angan Aceh Besar.
