Kemampuan komunikasi matematis merupakan salah satu kemampuan matematis yang sangat penting dan perlu dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran matematika, karena dapat membantu pembelajaran siswa tentang konsep matematika ketika mereka memerankan situasi, menggambar, menggunakan objek, memberikan laporan dan penjelasan secara lisan maupun tulisan. Fakta di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa hasil pembelajaran matematika terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis masih rendah yang disebabkan oleh siswa kurang memiliki kemampuan untuk merumuskan gagasan sendiri dan kurang memiliki keberanian untuk menyampaikan pendapat pada orang lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa setelah dibelajarkan dengan model Active Knowledge Sharing (AKS) dan konvensional di SMPN 1 Montasik Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui desain pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMPN 1 Montasik Aceh Besar yang terdiri dari tiga kelas dengan sampel dua kelas yang dipilih secara simple random sampling, di mana kelas VII-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII-2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t pada taraf signifikansi 5% setelah persyaratan pengujian terpenuhi. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model AKS lebih baik daripada yang memperoleh pembelajaran secara konvensional di SMPN 1 Montasik Aceh Besar. Penerapan model AKS dalam pembelajaran matematika telah terbukti dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa menjadi lebih baik dan dapat menjadi salah satu acuan tentang praktik baik model AKS terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.

Mathematical communication ability is one of the most important mathematical skills and needs to be developed in learning mathematics, because it can help students learn about mathematical concepts when they act out situations, draw pictures, use objects, provide reports and explanations orally and in writing. Facts on the ground show that the results of learning mathematics on mathematical communication skills are still low, which is caused by students lacking the ability to formulate their own ideas and lacking the courage to express opinions to others. This study aims to determine students' mathematical communication skills after being taught using the Active Knowledge Sharing (AKS) and conventional models at SMPN 1 Montasik Aceh Besar. This study used an experimental method with a quantitative approach through a pretest-posttest control group design. The study population was all students of class VII SMPN 1 Montasik Aceh Besar, consisting of three classes with a sample of two classes selected by simple random sampling, where class VII-1 served as the experimental class and class VII-2 as the control class. Data were collected through tests of mathematical communication skills which were then analyzed using the t-test at a significance level of 5% after the test requirements were fulfilled. The results showed that the mathematical communication abilities of students who received learning using the AKS model were better than those who received conventional learning at SMPN 1 Montasik Aceh Besar. The application of the AKS model in learning mathematics has been proven to be able to influence students' mathematical communication skills for the better and can be a reference for good practice of the AKS model for students' mathematical communication abilities.
