ABSTRAK
Kegiatan pembelajaran riset di madrasah merupakan wadah pembinaan bakat dan minat dalam bidang riset untuk melatih peserta didik agar dapat melakukan penelitian-penelitian sederhana. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis: (1) Perencanaan peningkatan mutu madrasah riset. (2) Pengorganisasian dan pelaksanaan program madrasah riset. (3) Pengawasan program madrasah riset. (4) Evaluasi program madrasah riset. (5) Faktor pendorong keberhasilan madrasah riset. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui: observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah: kepala madrasah, wakil kepala, tim pengembang mutu, pengawas, komite, guru dan guru pembimbing. Teknik analisis data melalui: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Perencanaan dilakukan pada awal tahun ajaran 2021/2022 melalui rapat kerja bersama kepala madrasah, wakil kepala, tim pengembang madrasah, guru pembimbing, pengawas dan komite, dibentuknya satu kelas riset, dibentuknya kurikulum, disusunnya jadwal dan rencana kerja madrasah riset. (2) Pengorganisasian dan pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan memberikan tugas kepada guru-guru yang memiliki kompetensi dalam bidang riset, terbentuknya struktur pelaksana madrasah riset, telah terbentuknya unit pengembangan mutu, riset dilaksanakan sesuai jadwal dan madrasah telah mengikuti beberapa kompetisi yang diadakan, seperti ajang MYRES, KOPSI, LIPI, KTI MTs Istiqlal dan Robotik. (3) Pengawasan kurang dilakukan dengan baik, hal ini dikarenakan belum adanya tim khusus yang memiliki tugas sebagai unit pelaksana supervisi, belum adanya instrumen supervisi, dan belum ada jadwal pengawasan. (4) Evaluasi program sudah dilaksanakan terutama saat mengikuti kompetisi riset tingkat nasional. (5) Keberhasilan terlaksananya program peningkatan mutu madrasah riset ini karena adanya regulasi pelaksanaan program, adanya komitmen kepala madrasah, adanya motivasi guru dan siswa, tersedianya sarana dan prasarana serta adanya anggaran untuk pelaksanaan program.

MANAGEMENT OF AN ISLAMIC SCHOOL PRINCIPAL IN IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF RESEARCH MADRASA IN STATE JUNIOR ISLAMIC SCHOOL 1 OF BANDA ACEH CITY ABSTRACT (Rosalia Sari) Research learning activities in an Islamic school or madrasa are a forum for fostering talents and interests in the field of research to train the students to be able to do simple research. The objectives of this study were to analyze: (1) the planning for improving the quality of the research madrasa, (2) the organization and implementation of research madrasa programs, (3) the supervision of research madrasa programs, (4) the evaluation of research madrasa programs, and (5) the factors supporting the success of a research madrasa. Data collection techniques that were employed were observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were the principal of the madrasa, the vice principals, the school quality development team, the school supervisors, the school committees, the school teachers and the supervising teachers. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed (1) that the planning was carried out at the beginning of the 2021/2022 academic year through a working meeting of the principal, the vice principals, the school quality development team, the school supervisors, the school committees, and the supervising teachers, through the establishment of a research class, through the formation of a curriculum, and through the preparation of a madrasa schedule and work plans, and (2) that the organization and implementation were carried out by assigning tasks to the teachers having competence in the field of research, establishing the structure of the managing team regarding the research madrasa, arranging the quality development team, conducting research according to the schedule, and participating in several competitions held, such as the events of MYRES, KOPSI, LIPI, KTI MTs Istiqlal, and Robotik. In addition, it was also found (3) that the supervision was not carried out properly since there was no specific team being responsible of implementing the supervision, and there was no supervision instrument, and there was no supervision schedule. Moreover, it was also indicated (4) that the evaluation was carried out when the school participated in a national-level research competition and that (5) the successful implementation of the quality improvement of this research madrasa program was due to the regulations regarding the program implementation, the commitment of the madrasa principal, the motivation of teachers and students, the availability of facilities and infrastructure, and the budget for the program implementation.
