Penelitian yang dilakukan berkaitan dengan pemahaman konsep siswa menggunakan metode Certainty of Response Index (CRI). Hal ini diperlukan untuk membedakan siswa dengan kategori paham konsep (P), paham konsep tetapi tidak yakin (TY), miskonsepsi (M), dan tidak paham konsep sama sekali (TP) terhadap materi perpangkatan. Penelitian terdahulu menunjukkan bahwa materi perpangkatan cenderung dianggap sulit oleh siswa. Penggunaan metode CRI diberikan untuk mengukur tingkat keyakinan siswa dari jawaban tes yang diberikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman konsep siswa dari keempat kategori tersebut pada materi perpangkatan menggunakan CRI. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 34 siswa yang mewakili setiap kategori pemahaman konsep dari siswa kelas X SMA. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes objektif dan pedoman wawancara. Data yang telah dikumpulkan dilakukan metode triangulasi guna memperkuat data penelitian. Data hasil tes kemudian dikelompokkan menggunakan kategori CRI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi perpangkatan menggunakan Certainty of Response Index di SMA Negeri 4 Banda Aceh berada pada kategori paham konsep dengan baik sejumlah 64,28% (27 siswa), kategori paham konsep tetapi tidak yakin sejumlah 4,76% (2 siswa), kategori miskonsepsi sejumlah 23,81% (10 siswa) dan kategori tidak paham konsep sejumlah 7,14% (3 siswa).

This research is related to students' understanding of concepts using the Certainty of Response Index (CRI) method. This is necessary to distinguish students with the categories of understanding the concept (P), understanding the concept but not sure (TY), misconceptions (M), and not understanding the concept at all (TP) on the rank material. Previous research shows that the ranking material is considered difficult by students. The use of the CRI method is given to measure the level of student confidence in the answers to the tests given. This study aims to determine the understanding of students' concepts from the four categories on the rank material using CRI. This type of research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were 34 students who represented each category of concept understanding of class X SMA students. The data collection technique used an objective test of guidelines and interviews. The data has been triangulated to strengthen the research data. The test result data then used the CRI category. The results showed that the students' concepts in the ranking material using the Response Certainty Index at SMA Negeri 4 Banda Aceh were in the category of concept understanding with a good understanding of 64.28% (27 students), the category of understanding concepts but not sure the number was 4.76% (2 students). ), the misconception category is 23.81% (10 students) and the category is not familiar with the concept number 7.14% (3 students).
