Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan teknik pair work dan bagaimana pengaruhnya terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa. Menurut data dan informasi yang dikumpulkan dari beberapa penelitian sebelumnya, skor rata-rata berbicara siswa masih rendah. Oleh karena itu, untuk membantu siswa meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara mereka, kerja berpasangan dianggap sebagai teknik yang efektif untuk membantu siswa dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara mereka. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode penelitian kepustakaan yang memperhatikan bagaimana penggunaan teknik pair work dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa berdasarkan penelitian sebelumnya dan teori-teori para ahli. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari artikel, buku teks, jurnal, penelitian terdahulu, dan sumber lain yang relevan. Teknik analisis data meliputi proses identifikasi data dari sumber kepustakaan yang relevan, menentukan lokasi data, memperoleh data, mengevaluasi data, dan memasukkan data ke dalam penyajian penelitian. Hasil analisis dari semua sumber menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teknik pair work dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa dan aspek-aspek berbicara seperti kelancaran, pengucapan, akurasi, kosa kata, dan pemahaman. Singkatnya, kerja berpasangan dianggap sebagai teknik untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa.

ABSTRACT Name : Nurhumaira Student No. : 1606102020042 Study Program : English Language Education Title : An Analysis of Pair Work as a Technique to Improve the Students’ Speaking Skills (A Library Research) Keywords: Pair work technique, Speaking This research aims to analyze the implementation of pair work technique and how it affects students’ speaking skills. According to the data and information gathered from some previous studies, the students’ average score of speaking is still low. Therefore, in order to help students to improve their speaking skills, pair work is considered an effective technique for assisting students in improving their speaking skills. This research applied library research method that concerned on how the use of pair work technique can improve students’ speaking skills based on the previous studies and the theories of the experts. The data for this research were obtained from articles, textbooks, journals, previous researches, and other relevant sources. The data analysis technique includes the process of data identification from relevant literature sources, determining where the data is located, obtaining the data, evaluating the data, and incorporating the data into the research presentation. The result of the analysis from all the sources showed that the use of pair work technique could improve students’ speaking skill and the aspects of speaking such as fluency, pronounciation, accuracy, vocabulary, and comprehension. To sum up, pair work is considered as a technique to improve students’ speaking skills. iv
