Operasi hitung pecahan merupakan salah satu materi matematika yang diajarkan di sekolah dasar dan merupakan materi yang relatif sulit. Oleh sebab itu pelaksanaan pembelajaran operasi hitung pecahan memerlukan model yang membuat siswa menjadi aktif dan berpikir kreatif, sehingga pembelajaran menjadi lebih bermakna dan siswa tidak merasa bosan selama pembelajaran. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa dan dapat membuat suasana kelas menjadi aktif adalah model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing. Adapun tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) mendeskripsikan aktivitas siswa selama penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Throwing (2) mendeskripsikan aktivitas guru selama penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Throwing (3) mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing.
Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilakukan dalam 3 siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SD Negeri Keudebieng Aceh Besar yang berjumlah 31 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan tes.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada siklus I, II dan III diperoleh data sebagai berikut. Persentase aktivitas siswa pada siklus I sebesar 54,30% dengan kriteria cukup. Persentase pada siklus II sebesar 70% dengan kriteria baik. Pada siklus III mencapai 79% dengan kriteria baik. Aktivitas guru pada siklus I dikategorikan cukup dengan persentase 62,5%. Pada siklus II dikategorikan baik dengan persentase 81%. Pada siklus III dikategorikan sangat baik dengan persentase 94%. Hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I dengan ketuntasan klasikal 67,64% dengan rata-rata kelas 67. Pada siklus II meningkat sebesar 80,64% dengan rata rata kelas 79. Pada siklus III ketuntasan klasikan mencapai 87% dengan rata-rata kelas 82,5. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Throwing dapat meningkatkan aktivitas siswa, aktivitas guru dan hasil belajar siswa dalam proses pembelajaran materi operasi hitung pecahan.

Operations to count fractions is one of the mathematics materials taught in elementary schools and is a relatively difficult material. Therefore, the implementation of fractional counting operations learning requires a model that makes students active and think creatively, so that learning becomes more meaningful and students do not feel bored during learning. One of the student-centered learning models that can make the classroom atmosphere active is the Snowball Throwing learning model. The objectives to be achieved in this study are (1) to describe student activities during the application of the Snowball Throwing type of cooperative learning model (2) to describe the teacher's activities during the application of the Snowball Throwing type of cooperative learning model (3) to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes after applying the cooperative learning model type of snowball throwing. This study used a Classroom Action Research design which was carried out in 3 cycles. The research subjects were all fifth grade students of SD Negeri Keudebieng Aceh Besar, totaling 31 students. Data was collected through observation and tests. Based on the results of research in cycles I, II and III, the following data were obtained. The percentage of student activity in the first cycle was 54.30% with sufficient criteria. The percentage in cycle II was 70% with good criteria. In the third cycle reached 79% with good criteria. The teacher's activities in the first cycle were categorized as sufficient with a percentage of 62.5%. In the second cycle, it was categorized as good with a percentage of 81%. In the third cycle, it was categorized as very good with a percentage of 94%. Student learning outcomes in the first cycle with classical completeness 67.64% with an average grade of 67. In the second cycle increased by 80.64% with an average grade of 79. In the third cycle classical completeness reached 87% with an average grade of 82, 5. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Snowball Throwing type of cooperative learning model can increase student activity, teacher activity and student learning outcomes in the learning process of fractional arithmetic operations.
