The aim of this study is to explore some given theories and/or research findings on the application of Jigsaw technique on the teaching of reading report text. The discussion’s concerns is on Jigsaw as one of Cooperative Learning technique and its contributions to the teaching of reading report text. After exploring some literature related to Jigsaw, reading and report text, it is found that Jigsaw does have some contributions to the teaching reading classroom, in this case reading report text. Jigsaw can encourage students to be active during reading activity and it also can be an alternative technique to avoid boredom during classroom activity. In addition, since this is a small group-to-group technique, thus, it lets students learn the report text given together and discuss about the ideas and vocabularies of the text. The method used in this study is library research. The literature collected is described in descriptive way. Based on the research findings and experts’ statements, it is found that Jigsaw technique is effective to enhance the students’ reading skill, in this case reading report text. This study is expected to be useful for other English teachers, especially for those who are interested in Jigsaw technique.
