Meningkatnya limbah plastik Polietilena Tereftalat (PET) di Indonesia menjadi permasalahan lingkungan karena sulit terurai dan berpotensi mencemari lingkungan. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi limbah tersebut adalah menerapkan prinsip 3R (Reduce, Reuse, dan Recycle) pada bidang fashion melalui pemanfaatan limbah plastik PET sebagai elemen dekoratif pada busana. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendesain dan membuat busana pesta anak dengan penerapan elemen dekoratif dari limbah plastik PET melalui teknik beading tiga dimensi, serta mengetahui tanggapan informan terhadap produk busana yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen terapan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek terdiri dari lima informan, yaitu dua desainer asal Aceh, dua mahasiswa Konsentrasi Tata Busana dan satu pengrajin payet. Proses pembuatan produk dilakukan dengan memilah limbah plastik, pembersihan, pengecatan, pemotongan menjadi payet sequins dan pembuatan lubang. Payet sequins dari limbah plastik PET yang dihasilkan kemudian diaplikasikan sebagai elemen dekoratif melalui teknik beading tiga dimensi pada dua model busana pesta anak. Produk pertama berupa gaun (gown) dan produk kedua berupa dress A-line. Produk yang dihasilkan memiliki elemen dekoratif yang bertekstur, berdimensi dan bernilai estetika yang menarik serta mampu memperkuat tampilan visual busana pesta anak. Para Informan menyatakan bahwa elemen dekoratif yang dihasilkan tampak menyerupai ornamen komersial, memiliki nilai estetika yang tinggi, serta mampu meningkatkan daya tarik busana pesta anak. Pemanfaatan limbah plastik PET sebagai elemen dekoratif dinilai mendukung penerapan konsep sustainable fashion melalui prinsip Reduce, Reuse dan Recycle (3R), sehingga menghasilkan produk busana yang tidak hanya bernilai estetika, tetapi juga memiliki nilai edukatif dan ekonomi.

The increasing amount of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) plastic waste in Indonesia has become an environmental problem because it is difficult to decompose and has the potential to pollute the environment. One effort that can be made to reduce this waste is to apply the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) in the fashion sector by utilizing PET plastic waste as a decorative element in clothing. This study aims to design and create children's party dresses by applying decorative elements from PET plastic waste through three-dimensional beading techniques, as well as to determine the responses of informants to the resulting fashion products. This study uses an applied experimental method with a qualitative approach. The subjects consisted of five informants, namely two designers from Aceh, two Fashion Design students and one sequin craftsman. The product manufacturing process is carried out by sorting plastic waste, cleaning, painting, cutting into sequins and making holes. The sequins from the resulting PET plastic waste are then applied as decorative elements through three-dimensional beading techniques on two models of children's party dresses. The first product is a gown and the second product is an A-line dress. The resulting product has decorative elements that are textured, dimensional and have attractive aesthetic value and are able to strengthen the visual appearance of children's party clothes. Informants stated that the resulting decorative elements look like commercial ornaments, have high aesthetic value and are able to increase the attractiveness of children's party clothes. The use of PET plastic waste as a decorative element is considered to support the implementation of the concept of sustainable fashion through the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (3R), thus producing fashion products that are not only aesthetic, but also have educational and economic value.
