Aceh memiliki rekam jejak historis yang panjang sebagai pusat perdagangan, kebudayaan,
dan penyebaran Islam sejak abad ke-12. Namun demikian, representasi sejarah Kesultanan
Aceh Darussalam dalam institusi museum masih belum tersampaikan secara optimal. Oleh
karena itu, perancangan Museum Sejarah Kesultanan Aceh Darussalam menjadi urgensi
strategis dalam upaya pelestarian warisan budaya serta penguatan identitas kedaerahan.
Museum ini dirancang dengan pendekatan naratif interaktif dan berlandaskan tema
arsitektur ekspresionis, serta didukung oleh teknologi multimedia dan virtual reality untuk
menghadirkan pengalaman edukatif yang imersif. Melalui penerapan bentuk arsitektur
yang dinamis dan penggunaan material modern, museum ini diharapkan mampu berfungsi
sebagai pusat edukasi, pelestarian budaya, sekaligus destinasi wisata sejarah yang
representatif bagi Banda Aceh.

Aceh possesses a long historical legacy as a center of trade, culture, and the spread of Islam dating back to the 12th century. However, the history of the Aceh Darussalam Sultanate has not yet been optimally represented within museum institutions. Consequently, the design of the Aceh Darussalam Sultanate History Museum has become a strategic priority for preserving cultural heritage and strengthening regional identity. The museum is designed using an interactive narrative approach and an expressionist architectural theme, incorporating multimedia and virtual reality technologies to deliver an immersive educational experience. Through the application of dynamic architectural forms and modern materials, the museum is envisioned to serve as a center for education and cultural preservation, as well as a representative historical tourism destination for Banda Aceh.
