Nilai patriotisme merupakan salah satu nilai penting yang dapat diwariskan melalui sejarah perjuangan tokoh lokal. Rajo Lelo merupakan tokoh perjuangan masyarakat Kluet Timur yang memiliki peran penting dalam perlawanan terhadap kolonial Belanda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai patriotisme yang terkandung dalam perjuangan Rajo Lelo dan (2) menganalisis upaya penguatan nilai patriotisme melalui perjuangan Rajo Lelo pada masyarakat Kluet Timur Kabupaten Aceh Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi dengan penentuan informan menggunakan teknik snowball sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) perjuangan Rajo Lelo mengandung nilai patriotisme berupa keberanian, rela berkorban, persatuan dan solidaritas, serta tanggung jawab kepemimpinan. Nilai-nilai tersebut tercermin dalam perjuangannya melawan penjajah, termasuk strategi perlawanan khas yang dilakukan tanpa menggunakan senjata, sebagai simbol keberanian dan perlawanan terhadap kolonialisme; (2) penguatan nilai patriotisme pada masyarakat Kluet Timur dilakukan melalui tradisi lisan, peran keluarga, pendidikan, kegiatan kebudayaan, serta penghormatan terhadap situs sejarah dan makam Rajo Lelo. Simpulan penelitian ini yaitu (1) nilai patriotisme dalam perjuangan Rajo Lelo meliputi keberanian, rela berkorban, persatuan dan solidaritas, serta tanggung jawab kepemimpinan (2) penguatan nilai patriotisme dilakukan melalui tradisi lisan, keluarga, pendidikan, kegiatan budaya, dan penghormatan terhadap situs sejarah. Adapun saran penelitian ini yaitu (1) masyarakat melestarikan nilai patriotisme, (2) pemerintah mendukung pelestarian situs sejarah dan budaya, (3) sekolah mengimplementasikan nilai patriotisme dalam pembelajaran, dan (4) hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi guru PPKn dalam mengimplementasikan nilai patriotisme pada proses pembelajaran dan penguatan karakter peserta didik.

Supervised by Hasbi Ali, S.Pd., M.Si., and Dr. Saiful, S.Pd., M.Si. Patriotism is one of the essential values that can be passed down through the historical struggles of local heroes. Rajo Lelo was a prominent figure in the struggle of the East Kluet community who played a significant role in resisting Dutch colonial rule. This study aims to (1) identify the values of patriotism reflected in the struggle of Rajo Lelo and (2) analyze the efforts to strengthen patriotism through his struggle among the people of East Kluet, South Aceh Regency. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, while informants were selected using the snowball sampling technique. The findings reveal that: (1) Rajo Lelo’s struggle embodies the values of patriotism, including courage, self-sacrifice, unity and solidarity, as well as leadership responsibility. These values are reflected in his resistance against the colonial forces, including his distinctive strategy of resistance, which did not rely on weapons as a symbol of courage and resistance to colonialism; (2) the strengthening of patriotic values within the East Kluet community is carried out through oral traditions, the role of the family, education, cultural activities, and respect for the historical site and the tomb of Rajo Lelo. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the struggle of Rajo Lelo is not only part of local history but also serves as a source of patriotic values that continue to be preserved and transmitted across generations through various social and cultural processes within the community. This study recommends that the community continue preserving the history of Rajo Lelo’s struggle, that the local government strengthen the preservation of historical sites and cultural activities, and that educational institutions utilize the findings of this study as learning resources, particularly in Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) and History classes, to foster patriotic values among students.
