Nasionalisme merupakan pondasi utama persatuan bangsa yang kini menghadapi tantangan serius akibat arus globalisasi dan dinamika identitas lokal di wilayah otonomi khusus Aceh. Mata kuliah umum pendidikan kewarganegaraan memegang peran strategis dalam mentransformasi pengetahuan menjadi sikap patriotik mahasiswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menguji pengaruh kompetensi pendidikan kewarganegaraan terhadap nasionalisme mahasiswa Universitas Syiah Kuala. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasional dan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 120 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik quota sampling tersebar di 12 fakultas di lingkungan Universitas Syiah Kuala. Data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen kuesioner berskala Likert yang telah dinyatakan valid dan sangat reliabel (αX = 0,927; αY = 0,914). Teknik analisis data menggunakan bantuan software SPSS melalui uji asumsi klasik, analisis regresi, dan uji hipotesis secara parsial. Secara deskriptif, tingkat penguasaan kompetensi pendidikan kewarganegaraan di kalangan mahasiswa sudah tergolong dalam kategori baik. Hasil analisis regresi linear sederhana menghasilkan persamaan Y = 16,416 + 0,830X, yang berarti setiap peningkatan kompetensi pendidikan kewarganegaraan akan diikuti oleh peningkatan nasionalisme mahasiswa secara nyata. Pengujian hipotesis membuktikan bahwa kompetensi pendidikan kewarganegaraan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap nasionalisme mahasiswa P = (0,001 < 0,05). Melalui uji koefisien determinasi (R_2), ditemukan bahwa kompetensi ini memberikan kontribusi sebesar 59,9% dalam membentuk rasa nasionalisme mahasiswa, sedangkan 40,1% sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar penelitian. Kesimpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa penguasaan kompetensi Pendidikan kewarganegaraan merupakan prediktor utama dalam menjaga eksistensi nasionalisme mahasiswa perguruan tinggi. Temuan ini menjadi bukti ilmiah bahwasanya penguatan kompetensi pendidikan kewarganegaraan secara akademis berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan nasionalisme mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, disarankan kepada pengelola mata kuliah umum di Universitas Syiah Kuala untuk terus mengembangkan metode pembelajaran yang inovatif, interaktif, dan berbasis pada penyelesaian masalah nyata, guna memperkuat internalisasi nilai-nilai kebangsaan yang adaptif terhadap tantangan global dan lokal.

Nationalism is the main foundation of national unity which is now facing serious challenges due to the flow of globalization and the dynamics of local identity in the special autonomous region of Aceh. The general course of civic education plays a strategic role in transforming knowledge into a patriotic attitude of students. The purpose of this study is to test the influence of civic education competency on the nationalism of Syiah Kuala University students. This study uses a quantitative approach with a type of correlational research and simple linear regression analysis. The research sample amounted to 120 respondents who were selected using the quota sampling technique spread across 12 faculties within Syiah Kuala University. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire instrument that was declared valid and highly reliable (αX = 0.927; αY = 0.914). The data analysis technique used the help of SPSS software through classical assumption tests, regression analysis, and partial hypothesis tests. Descriptively, the level of mastery of civic education competencies among students is classified as good. The results of a simple linear regression analysis resulted in the equation Y = 16.416 + 0.830X, which means that any increase in civic education competence will be followed by a real increase in student nationalism. Hypothesis testing proves that civic education competence has a positive and significant effect on student nationalism P = (0.001 < 0.05). Through the determination coefficient (R_2) test, it was found that this competency contributed 59.9% in shaping students' sense of nationalism, while the remaining 40.1% was influenced by other factors outside the study. The conclusion of the study emphasizes that the mastery of civic education competencies is the main predictor in maintaining the existence of nationalism of university students. This finding is scientific evidence that strengthening the competence of civic education academically is directly proportional to the increase in student nationalism. Based on these results, it is recommended to the managers of public courses at Syiah Kuala University to continue to develop innovative, interactive, and problem-based learning methods, in order to strengthen the internalization of national values that are adaptive to global and local challenges.
