Aceh Singkil memiliki kawasan pesisir dengan keanekaragaman hayati yang tinggi, berbagai spesies hewan termasuk burung dan buaya dapat ditemukan di habitatnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi antara keberadaan buaya dengan tingkat keanekaragaman spesies burung. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dan jenis penelitian korelasional dengan teknik point count dan transect. Data dianalisis dengan Indeks Shannon-Wiener dan korelasi point biserial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indeks keanekaragaman spesies burung diperoleh nilai H’ sebesar 2.290 pada Stasiun 1 dan 0.912 pada Stasiun 2. Hasil analisis korelasi point biserial menunjukkan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar rₚb = 0.707. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat keanekaragaman spesies burung pada Stasiun 1 tergolong sedang dan pada Stasiun 2 tergolong rendah sedangkan korelasi keberadaan buaya dengan tingkat keanekaragaman spesies burung tergolong sedang.

Aceh Singkil has a coastal area with high biodiversity, various animal species including birds and crocodiles can be found in its habitat. This research aims to determine the correlation between the presence of crocodiles and the level of bird species diversity. The method used is a quantitative method and a type of correlational research using point count and transect techniques. Data were analyzed using the Shannon-Wiener Index and point biserial correlation. The research results showed that the bird species diversity index obtained an H' value of 2.290 at Station 1 and 0.912 at Station 2. The results of the point biserial correlation analysis showed a correlation coefficient value of rₚb = 0.707. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the level of bird species diversity at Station 1 is moderate and at Station 2 is low, while the correlation between the presence of crocodiles and the level of bird species diversity is classified as moderate.
