Pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pembelajaran geografi menjadi kebutuhan penting untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir spasial peserta didik. Salah satu teknologi yang relevan adalah Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG), khususnya aplikasi GIS Learning Open Source seperti Quantum GIS (QGIS), yang mampu membuat peta keruangan secara visual dan interaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan media GIS Learning Open Source terhadap keterampilan berpikir spasial siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 8 Kota Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen, yaitu desain one group pre-test and post-test. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X IPS 1 SMA Negeri 8 Kota Banda Aceh. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan melalui tes pilihan ganda untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir spasial yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan selama proses pembelajaran. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas Liliefors dan uji hipotesis dengan uji paired sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan media GIS Learning Open Source berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa. Dengan demikian, penerapan media GIS Learning Open Source terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa dan layak direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran inovatif dalam pembelajaran geografi di tingkat sekolah menengah.

One relevant technology is the Geographic Information System (GIS), especially open source GIS learning applications such as Quantum GIS (QGIS), which is able to create spatial maps visually and interactively. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of open source GIS learning media on the spatial thinking skills of class X students at SMA Negeri 8 Banda Aceh City. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method, namely a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The research subjects were class X IPS 1 students of SMA Negeri 8 Banda Aceh City. The sampling technique was carried out through a multiple-choice test to determine the spatial thinking skills given before and after treatment during the learning process. The data obtained were analyzed using the Liliefors normality test and hypothesis testing with a paired simple t-test. The results of the study indicate that the application of open source GIS learning media has an effect on students' spatial thinking skills. Thus, the application of open source GIS learning media has proven effective in improving students' spatial thinking skills and is worthy of being recommended as an alternative innovative learning media in geography learning at the secondary school level.
