Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki hubungan antara persepsi mahasiswa pada Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Syiah Kuala terhadap penggunaan podcast. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei korelasional. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 43 mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner yang mengukur persepsi mahasiswa mengenai kenyamanan, manfaat, dan efektivitas penggunaan podcast sebagai media pembelajaran keterampilan menyimak (listening).
Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara persepsi mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan podcast, baik dalam aspek persepsi positif maupun negatif. Analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi (p-value) lebih kecil dari α = 0,05, yang berarti hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (Ho) ditolak.
Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa persepsi positif mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan podcast dapat mendukung peningkatan keterampilan menyimak dalam bahasa Inggris. Peneliti menyarankan bahwa penggunaan podcast merupakan metode pembelajaran menyimak yang efektif dan menarik, karena menggabungkan elemen audio yang mudah diakses serta membantu meningkatkan motivasi belajar mahasiswa.

Universitas Syiah Kuala]. Under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Aulia, S.Pd., M.TESOL., M.A, and Nira Erdiana, S.Pd., M.Pd. This study aims to investigate the relationship between students’ perceptions in the English Education Study Program at Syiah Kuala University regarding the use of podcasts. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational survey method. The sample consisted of 43 students from the English Education Department, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire that measured students’ perceptions of the comfort, benefits, and effectiveness of using podcasts as a medium for learning listening skills. The analysis results showed a significant relationship between students’ perceptions of podcast usage a relation between Positive and Negative perceptions. The statistical analysis revealed that the significance value (p-value) was less than α = 0.05, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. This study concludes that students’ positive perceptions of podcast usage can support the enhancement of English listening skills. The researcher suggests that using podcasts is an effective and engaging method for teaching listening, as it incorporates accessible audio elements and helps increase students’ learning motivation.
