Kualitas pendidikan di Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya menjadi hambatan, ditandai dengan rendahnya hasil Uji Kompetensi Guru (UKG) dan minimnya penguasaan kompetensi pedagogik, termasuk oleh guru PPKn. Kompetensi pedagogik merupakan syarat penting untuk mendukung pembelajaran efektif, terutama dalam membentuk karakter dan moral siswa melalui mata pelajaran PPKn. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kompetensi pedagogik dengan tanggung jawab guru PPKn serta mengidentifikasi faktor penyebab dan solusi peningkatan kinerja guru PPKn di tingkat SMP Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui angket. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 10 guru PPKn yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kompetensi pedagogik guru berada pada kategori baik dengan rata-rata skor 71,20. Sementara itu, tanggung jawab guru berada pada kategori sedang hingga tinggi, dengan skor sedang yakni 30 hingga tinggi yakni 40 dan rata-rata sebesar 36,60. Uji korelasi menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara kompetensi pedagogik dan tanggung jawab guru. Rendahnya kompetensi pedagogik dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, seperti usia guru, minimnya pelatihan, serta rendahnya minat guru dalam pengembangan diri. Kesimpulannya, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kompetensi pedagogik dengan tanggung jawab guru PPKn tingkat SMP di Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya. Rendahnya kinerja guru disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor seperti motivasi yang rendah, beban kerja tinggi, serta lemahnya manajemen dan sarana prasarana sekolah. Guru PPKn disarankan meningkatkan kompetensi melalui pelatihan dan metode pembelajaran inovatif. Nilai-nilai Pancasila perlu diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian lanjutan sebaiknya mengkaji faktor eksternal dan pengalaman langsung guru.

The quality of education in Southwest Aceh Regency remains a serious challenge, as indicated by the low results of the Teacher Competency Test (UKG) and the limited mastery of pedagogical competence among teachers, including those teaching Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn). Pedagogical competence is an essential requirement for teachers to facilitate effective learning, especially in shaping the character and moral values of students through the PPKn subject. This study aims to examine the relationship between pedagogical competence and the responsibility of PPKn teachers, as well as to identify the contributing factors and solutions for improving teacher performance at the junior high school level in Southwest Aceh Regency.. . The research method used is a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collection carried out through questionnaires. The sample consisted of 10 PPKn teachers selected through purposive sampling. The results showed that the teachers’ level of pedagogical competence was in the "good" category, with an average score of 71.20. Meanwhile, teacher responsibility ranged from moderate (score of 30) to high (score of 40), with an average score of 36.60. Correlation tests indicated a significant relationship between pedagogical competence and teacher responsibility. The low level of pedagogical competence is influenced by several factors, such as the teacher's age, lack of government outreach, and low interest in self-development. In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between pedagogical competence and the responsibility of PPKn teachers at the junior high school level in Southwest Aceh Regency. Low teacher performance is caused by factors such as low motivation, high workload, and weak school management and infrastructure. PPKn teachers are advised to improve their competence through training and the use of innovative teaching methods. Pancasila values should be integrated into the learning process.
