This study aims to find out whether the use of the LRD strategy can increase
students' reading comprehension at first-grade students of MAN 3 Banda Aceh in
the 2024/2025 academic year. This study used a pre-experimental research with one
group pre-test post-test design. The research sample was selected using random
sampling with 26 students from a total population of 179 students. The instrument
of this study was a test with 20 multiple-choice questions. The data was collected
by using pretest and posttest. The researcher analyzed the result of data using
statistical formula. The result of data analysis showed that the students' average
score of pretest is 38.08, while after using the LRD Strategy, the students' average
score increases to 76.54, in post-test. The result of data analysis also showed the
significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) obtained was ,000, which is lower than the
threshold of 0.05, so Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. It revealed that there
are significant results using the LRD strategy in improving students' reading
comprehension at first grade students of MAN 3 Banda Aceh.
