Perancangan Aquatic Centre di Banda Aceh bertujuan untuk merespon kebutuhan akan fasilitas olahraga air yang representatif, modern, dan ramah budaya lokal. Kota Banda Aceh sebagai pusat kegiatan sosial dan budaya memiliki potensi besar dalam pengembangan olahraga air, namun fasilitas yang tersedia saat ini masih terbatas. Mengangkat tema arsitektur metafora, desain bangunan ini menginterpretasikan bentuk dan gerakan air sebagai inspirasi utama, menciptakan visual dan fungsi yang selaras dengan konteks geografis dan budaya Aceh.
Aquatic Centre ini dirancang sebagai ruang multifungsi untuk aktivitas olahraga, rekreasi, edukasi, dan rehabilitasi. Fasilitasnya mencakup kolam renang berstandar kompetisi, kolam rekreasi, ruang ganti yang mempertimbangkan norma syariah, serta fasilitas pendukung seperti area komersial dan ruang kebugaran. Lokasi terpilih berada di Gampong Deah Baro, Kecamatan Meuraxa, Banda Aceh, dengan pendekatan desain yang mengutamakan privasi, keamanan, efisiensi sirkulasi, dan keberlanjutan lingkungan.
Perancangan ini tidak hanya bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas fasilitas olahraga, tetapi juga sebagai simbol kemajuan kota yang tetap menjaga nilai-nilai lokal. Hasil rancangan diharapkan mendorong munculnya atlet muda berprestasi dan memperkuat partisipasi masyarakat dalam kegiatan fisik yang sehat dan bermanfaat.

The design of the Aquatic Center in Banda Aceh aims to respond to the need for a representative, modern, and culturally appropriate aquatic sports facility. As a center of social and cultural activity, Banda Aceh has great potential for aquatic sports development, but currently available facilities are limited. Embracing metaphorical architecture, the building's design interprets the form and movement of water as its primary inspiration, creating visuals and functions that align with Aceh's geographical and cultural context. The Aquatic Center is designed as a multifunctional space for sports, recreation, education, and rehabilitation. Facilities include a competition-standard swimming pool, a recreational pool, changing rooms that comply with Sharia norms, and supporting facilities such as a commercial area and fitness room. The selected location is in Gampong Deah Baro, Meuraxa District, Banda Aceh, with a design approach that prioritizes privacy, security, circulation efficiency, and environmental sustainability. This design not only aims to improve the quality of sports facilities but also serves as a symbol of the city's progress while maintaining local values. The resulting design is expected to encourage the emergence of high-achieving young athletes and strengthen community participation in healthy and beneficial physical activities.
