Bagi sebagian besar pelajar EFL (English as a Foreign Language), penguasaan keterampilan menulis cukup sulit untuk dikuasai. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan suatu model pembelajaran sebagai cara yang lebih efektif dalam belajar. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa dalam teks deskriptif adalah Think Talk Write (TTW). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Think Talk Write terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa EFL di SMK Negeri 1 Lhoknga. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian pre-eksperimental dengan menggunakan desain one-group pretest posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini mencakup seluruh siswa kelas sebelas di SMK Negeri 1 Lhoknga, dengan sampel satu kelas yang terdiri dari 24 siswa yang dipilih secara acak dari empat kelas yang tersedia dengan total 99 siswa pada tanggal 4 Februari 2025. Data dikumpulkan melalui pretest dan posttest. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, diketahui bahwa (1) terdapat peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari pretest ke posttest, yaitu dari 51,87 menjadi 66,50, dan (2) terdapat pula peningkatan nilai rata-rata pada komponen menulis, yaitu konten sebesar 3,42, kosakata sebesar 3,41, dan organisasi sebesar 3,33. (3) berdasarkan hasil uji T sampel berpasangan, nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) adalah 0,001, yang lebih kecil dari 0,05 (0,001 < 0,05), yang menunjukkan bahwa penerapan TTW (Think Talk Write) sebagai model pembelajaran memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan keterampilan menulis siswa dalam teks deskriptif.
For most EFL learners, the mastery of writing skill is quite difficult to master. For that reason a learning model is needed for the reason of a more effective way of studying. A learning model that can improve students' writing skill in descriptive text is the Think Talk Write (TTW). This study aims to find out the effect of using Think Talk Write learning model on writing skill of EFL students at vocational senior high school 1 Lhoknga. The research design in this study is a pre-experimental study using a one-group pretest posttest design. The population of this study include all eleventh-grade students at vocational senior high school 1 Lhoknga, with a sample of one class consists 24 students selected through random sampling from the four available classes with the total of 99 students on fourth February, 2025. Data were collected using pretests and posttests. Based on the research findings, it was found that (1) there was an increase in the average score from the pretest to the posttest, from 51.87 to 66.50, and (2) there was also an increase in the average scores for the writing components, with content by 3.42, vocabulary by 3.41, and organization by 3.33. (3) based on the results of the paired sample T-test, the significance value (2-sided) was 0.001, which is less than 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05), indicating that the application of the TTW ( Think Talk Write ) as a learning model has a significant effect on improving students' writing skill in descriptive text.
