Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan Pengetahuan Konten Pedagogis (PCK) di antara calon guru Bahasa Inggris yang terdaftar dalam Program Pendidikan Profesi (PPG) di Universitas Syiah Kuala dan untuk mengidentifikasi kendala yang dihadapi calon guru ini dalam proses belajar mengajar. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari lima calon guru Bahasa Inggris di PPG Universitas Syiah Kuala. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi dan kuesioner. Penelitian ini berfokus pada empat aspek utama PCK: Pengetahuan Materi Pelajaran, Pengetahuan Pedagogis, Pengetahuan Peserta Didik, dan Pengetahuan Kurikulum. Lima calon guru berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini dan mengevaluasi kinerja mereka dalam tiga sesi pengajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pengetahuan Kurikulum merupakan aspek yang paling banyak diterapkan, yang menunjukkan pemahaman dan penerapan pedoman kurikulum yang kuat yang didukung oleh pelatihan terstruktur dan pengembangan profesional. Sebaliknya, Pengetahuan Peserta Didik merupakan aspek yang paling sedikit diterapkan, yang menyoroti perlunya program pelatihan guru untuk lebih berfokus pada pemahaman berbagai kebutuhan siswa. Tantangan utama yang diidentifikasi adalah bahwa pengajaran harus diintegrasikan berdasarkan latar belakang budaya, sosial, dan bahasa siswa, sedangkan mempertahankan sikap inklusif dan objektif tidaklah terlalu sulit. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan yang lebih komprehensif tentang kompetensi budaya, pengajaran yang dibedakan, dan pengembangan profesional yang berkelanjutan sangat penting untuk meningkatkan penerapan PCK di antara calon guru. Temuan ini membantu meningkatkan program pendidikan guru dan, pada akhirnya, hasil pendidikan siswa.

Universitas Syiah Kuala]. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Yunisrina Q. Yusuf, S.Pd., M.Ling and Dr. Siti Sarah Fitriani, S.Pd., M.A. This research is aimed to analyze the implementation of Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) among pre-service English teachers enrolled in the Professional Education Program (PPG) at Syiah Kuala University and to identify the obstacles these pre-service teachers encounter in the teaching and learning process. The data in this study were obtained from five pre-service English teachers at PPG Syiah Kuala University. The data of this research were collected by using observation sheet and questionnaires. This research focuses on four key aspects of PCK: Subject Matter Knowledge, Pedagogical Knowledge, Knowledge of Learners, and Knowledge of Curriculum. Five pre-service teachers participated in the study and evaluated their performance in three teaching sessions. The results showed that Knowledge of Curriculum was the most implemented aspect, indicating a strong understanding and application of curriculum guidelines supported by structured training and professional development. Conversely, Knowledge of Learners was the least implemented aspect, highlighting the need for teacher training programs to be more focused on understanding students’ diverse needs. The main challenge identified was that teaching should be integrated based on students’ cultural, social, and linguistic backgrounds, whereas maintaining an inclusive and objective attitude was less difficult. The findings suggest that more comprehensive training on cultural competency, differentiated instruction, and ongoing professional development are critical for improving the implementation of PCK among preservice teachers. These findings help to improve teacher education programs and, ultimately, student educational outcomes.
