Kemampuan kolaborasi erat kaitannya dengan kegiatan berkomunikasi dan bekerja
sama dengan anggota kelompoknya. Kemampuan kolaborasi sebagai salah satu
ketrampilan yang dimiliki oleh siswa yang akan meningkatkan kemampuan mental
pada tingkatan yang lebih tinggi lagi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui
keterampilan kolaborasi dan komunikasi sains serta korelasi antara keduanya.
Metode penelitian menggunakan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif.
Parameter penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini antara lain keterampilan
kolaborasi dan komunikasi sains siswa kelas VIII SMP Islam Ibnu Khaldun Kota
Banda Aceh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: keterampilan kolaborasi sains
siswa kelas VII SMP Islam Ibnu Khaldun Kota Banda Aceh sebagian besar
tergolong sangat baik yakni sebesar 11%, baik 17%, cukup 42%, kurang 23%, dan
sangat kurang 8%. Keterampilan Komunikasi sains siswa kelas VII SMP Islam
Ibnu Khaldun Kota Banda Aceh sebagian besar tergolong sangat baik yakni sebesar
8%, baik 19%, cukup 42%, kurang 26%, dan sangat kurang 6%. Berdasarkan hasil
tersebut, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan kolaborasi dan komunikasi
sains memiliki hubungan yang tinggi terhadap kemampuan siswa kelas VIII SMP
Islam Ibnu Khaldun Kota Banda Aceh.

The ability to collaborate is closely related to communication and cooperation activities with group members. The ability to collaborate as one of the skills possessed by students will improve mental abilities at an even higher level. The purpose of this study is to find out the skills of collaboration and communication in science and the correlation between the two. The research method uses quantitative with a descriptive type of research. The research parameters used in this research include the collaboration and science communication skills of class VIII Ibnu Khaldun Islamic Middle School, Banda Aceh City. The results of the study showed that: the science collaboration skills of grade VII students of Ibnu Khaldun Islamic Junior High School in Banda Aceh City were mostly classified as very good, namely 11%, good 17%, fair 42%, poor 23%, and very poor 8%. Science communication skills of grade VII students of Ibnu Khaldun Islamic Junior High School Banda Aceh City are mostly classified as very good, namely 8%, good 19%, fair 42%, poor 26%, and very poor 6%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that science collaboration and communication skills have a high relationship with the ability of grade VIII students of Ibnu Khaldun Islamic Junior High School, Banda Aceh City.
