ABSTRAK

Pembinaan kompetensi profesional guru BK merupakan bagian integral dari upaya peningkatan mutu pendidikan. Pembinaan kompetensi profesional Guru BK di MAN Aceh Besar masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan, kendala utama adalah terbatasnya akses terhadap pelatihan yang berkualitas dan berkelanjutan, dukungan dari pihak sekolah dalam hal pengembangan kompetensi Guru BK masih kurang optimal, dan minimnya fasilitas serta sumber daya yang mendukung proses pengembangan profesionalitas Guru BK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji program pembinaan kompetensi profesional Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling (BK) di MAN Aceh Besar, pelaksanaan program tersebut, penilaian kepala sekolah terhadap program, serta hambatan yang dihadapi dalam pembinaan. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, dan purposive Sampling. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas (1) kepala sekolah (2) pengawas, dan (3) Guru BK di MAN Aceh Besar. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) program pembinaan Guru BK di MAN Aceh Besar sudah direncanakan dengan baik, namun masih terdapat keterbatasan dalam hal akses pelatihan berkualitas dan penyediaan fasilitas pendukung (2) Pelaksanaan program pembinaan berjalan sesuai rencana, tetapi frekuensinya masih perlu ditingkatkan agar lebih berkelanjutan (3) Penilaian kepala sekolah terhadap program menunjukkan bahwa pembinaan telah memberikan dampak positif pada kompetensi Guru BK, meskipun terdapat beberapa hambatan seperti keterbatasan waktu, sumber daya, dan dukungan kebijakan (4) Hambatan utama yang dihadapi adalah minimnya fasilitas, kurangnya pelibatan Guru BK dalam perencanaan, dan rendahnya dukungan dari pihak eksternal. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi pengembangan kebijakan pendidikan, khususnya dalam meningkatkan efektivitas pembinaan kompetensi profesional Guru BK. Program pelatihan berkualitas, alokasi sumber daya yang memadai, dan peningkatan koordinasi antara sekolah dan pihak eksternal menjadi langkah strategis untuk mendukung pembinaan ini.

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCY DEVELOPMENT FOR GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING TEACHERS AT MADRASAH ALIYAH NEGERI (MAN) IN ACEH BESAR ABSTRACT (Rismanila) The coaching of professional competence for guidance and counseling teachers is a crucial aspect of improving educational quality. Professional competence encompasses the ability to understand, analyze, and address student challenges, as well as to plan and implement counseling programs tailored to students' needs. However, the professional development of guidance and counseling teachers at MAN Aceh Besar encounters several challenges. Key obstacles include limited access to high-quality, sustainable training; lack of school support for competency development; and inadequate facilities and resources to support professional growth. By providing professional competency coaching for gudance and counseling teachers, principals and supervisors can identify strengths and weaknesses in the implementation of guidance and counseling programs and pinpoint areas requiring further improvement. This study aimed to explore the professional competency coaching program for guidance and counseling teachers at MAN Aceh Besar, the program's implementation, principals' evaluations, and the obstacles encountered. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed. The study involved three main research subjects: (1) principals, (2) supervisors, and (3) guaidance and counseling teachers at MAN Aceh Besar. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings revealed that: (1) The coaching program was well-structured but faced limitations in access to quality training and the availability of supporting facilities. (2) The implementation of the coaching program aligned with its plan, though the frequency needs to be increased for greater sustainability. (3) Principals’ evaluations indicated that the coaching program positively impacts teachers’ competencies, despite challenges such as limited time, resources, and policy support. (4) Major obstacles included insufficient facilities, limited involvement of teachers in planning, and inadequate support from external stakeholders. This study had significant implications for educational policy development, particularly in enhancing the effectiveness of professional competency coaching for guidance and counseling teachers. Strategic measures such as quality training programs, adequate resource allocation, and stronger coordination between schools and external stakeholders are essential to support these initiatives.
