Sebelum memulai kegiatan pertambangan perlu dilakukan perhitungan yang cermat dan matang. Perhitungan sumber daya dibutuhkan pada kegiatan pertambangan untuk mengetahui estimasi jumlah sumberdaya yang dimiliki oleh perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan perhitungan estimasi sumberdaya tanah urug pada WIUP PT.XYZ, Gampong Neuheun, Kecamatan Mesjid Raya, Kabupaten Aceh Besar, Provinsi Aceh. Metode yang digunakan untuk menghitung estimasi sumberdaya dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan metodologi cross section. Penentuan metode ini didorong oleh jenis sumberdaya yang akan diestimasi dan dalam penerapan metode cross section. Metode cross section menggunakan sayatan kontur topografi sebagai variable pada perhitungan sumberdaya. Dengan menggunakan metode tersebut akan didapatkan estimasi volume dan tonase sumberdaya. PT. XYZ memiliki target produksi sebesar 10.000 m3 per tahunnya. Dari hasil penelitian menggunakan metode cross section, sumberdaya tanah urug didapat dengan total volume sebesar 162.053,58 m3 dan total tonase sebesar 453.750,03 ton. Dengan target produksi perusahaan yang sebesar 10.000 m3 per tahunnya, maka estimasi umur tambang pada wilayah IUP PT. XYZ adalah sekitar ~16 tahun.

Before starting mining activities, a careful and thorough calculations need to be made. Resource calculations are needed in mining activities to determine the estimated amounts of resources owned by the company. This research aims to calculate estimates of landfill resources at Mining Business Licence area of PT.XYZ. The method used to calculate resource estimates in this research is the cross section methodology. The determination of this method is driven by the type of resource to be estimated and the application of the cross section method. The cross section method uses topographic contour cuts as a variable in resource calculations. By using this method, an estimate of the volume and tonnage of resources will be obtained. PT. XYZ has a production target of 10,000 m3 per year. From the results of research using the cross section method, the landfill resource was obtained with a total volume of 162,053.58 m3 and a total tonnage of 453,750.03 tons. With the company's production target of 10,000 m3 per year, the estimated mine life time in the Mining Business Licence area of PT. XYZ is about ~16 years old.
