Pendidik harus tahu seberapa jauh teknologi telah dimasukkan ke dalam kelas belajar mengajar. Dalam hal ini, beberapa lembaga pendidikan telah mengadopsi iPad sebagai teknologi digital untuk mendukung keberhasilan pembelajaran dan pendidikan. Namun, ditemukan bahwa studi terbatas berkaitan dengan penggunaan iPad di mengajar pelajar muda. Penelitian ini menganalisis penggunaan iPad oleh guru dalam mengajar Bahasa Inggris untuk pelajar muda dan manfaat penggunaan iPad di Sekolah Dasar Islam Al Azhar, Kairo, Banda Aceh. Dalam melakukan penelitian, metode kualitatif adalah diterapkan. Data diperoleh melalui observasi dan wawancara. Data menunjukkan beberapa tindakan guru dalam mengintegrasikan iPad ke dalam proses belajar-mengajar. Langkah-langkah tersebut diklasifikasikan ke dalam empat tingkat model SAMR dalam menggabungkan teknologi ke dalam kelas: substitusi, augmentasi, modifikasi, dan redefinisi. Sehingga ada beberapa manfaat yang dirasakan guru dan siswa dari penggunaan iPad dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar bahasa Inggris. Sebagian besar peserta percaya bahwa portabilitas, aksesibilitas, dan membina kolaborasi pembelajaran adalah manfaat utama mengintegrasikan iPad ke dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris.

Educators must know how far technology has been incorporated into classroom teaching and learning. In this case, some educational institutions have adopted iPads as a digital technology to support successful instructional and educational outcomes. However, it was found that limited studies were concerned with the use of iPads in teaching young learners. This research analyzed the teachers’ use of iPads in teaching English to young learners and the benefits of iPad use in Islamic Elementary School Al Azhar Cairo Banda Aceh. In conducting the research, the qualitative method was applied. The data was obtained through observations and interviews. The data showed some teacher’s actions in integrating iPads into the teaching-learning process. The steps are classified into four levels of SAMR’s models of incorporating technology into the classroom: substitution, augmentation, modification, and redefinition. Thus, there were several benefits that the teacher and students perceived from the use of iPads in the English teaching and learning activity. Most participants believed that portability, accessibility, and fostering learning collaboration were the main benefits of integrating iPads into the English language teaching and learning process.
