Metode trasnportasi merupakan metode yang digunakan untuk mengatur distribusi dari sumber yang menyediakan produk tertentu ke tempat-tempat yang membutuhkan produk secara optimal. Masalah yang terdapat dalam penelitian ini yaitu tentang biaya pendistribusian roti di PT. Gardenia. Perusahaan tersebut merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang pendistribusian makanan ringan yang ada di Sulawesi Selatan. Pendistribusian roti pada perusahaan ini akan di distribusikan dari 3 gudang ke 5 cabang yang ada di Sulawesi Selatan. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu bagaimanakah cara mengoptimalkan biaya pendistribusian roti dengan menggunakan metode Initial Cost Minimum Method (ICMM) dan membandingkan hasil yang diperoleh dari metode Initial Cost Minimum Method (ICMM) dan hasil dengan menggunakan metode transportasi pada penelitian Afriani (2016). Biaya pendistribusian roti pada PT. Gardenia sebelum diterapkan metode Initial Cost Minimum Method (ICMM) sebesar Rp3.218.000. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa total biaya pendistribusian roti pada PT. Gardenia menggunakan metode Initial Cost Minimum Method (ICMM) sebesar Rp2.660.000. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa PT. Gardenia dapat mengoptimalkan biaya pendistribusian roti sebesar Rp558.000. Iterasi yang diperoleh dari Initial Cost Minimum Method (ICMM) sama dengan iterasi yang diperoleh metode Vogel Approximation Method yaitu sebanyak 8 iterasi, sedangkan iterasi yang diperoleh metode North West Corner lebih pendek yaitu sebanyak 7 iterasi.

The transportation method is a method used to regulate distribution from sources that provide certain products to places that need products optimally. The problem in this research is the cost of distributing bread at PT. Gardenia. The company is one of the companies engaged in the distribution of snacks in South Sulawesi. Distribution of bread in this company will be distributed from 3 warehouses to 5 branches in South Sulawesi. The purpose of this study is how to optimize the cost of distributing bread using the Initial Cost Minimum Method (ICMM) and compare the results obtained from the Initial Cost Minimum Method (ICMM) and the results using the transportation method in Afriani's research (2016). The cost of distributing bread at PT. Gardenia before applying the Initial Cost Minimum Method (ICMM) of Rp3.218.000. from this study it was obtained that the total cost of distributing bread at PT. Gardenia uses the Initial Cost Minimum Method (ICMM) of Rp2.660.000. This shows that PT. Gardenia was able to optimize the cost of distributing bread in the amount of Rp558.000. The iterations obtained from the Initial Cost Minimum Method (ICMM) are the same as those obtained by the Vogel Approximation Method, which are 8 iterations, while the iterations obtained by the North West Corner method are shorter, namely 7 iterations.
