Daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam.) mengandung senyawa yang memiliki aktivitas
antioksidan sehingga berpotensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi sediaan kosmetik hand
and body lotion yang dapat memberikan kelembaban dan perlindungan bagi kulit.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan karakteristik dan aktivitas antioksidan dari
ekstrak daun kelor, kemudian memformulasikan ekstrak daun kelor ke dalam bentuk
sediaan hand and and body lotion serta melakukan evaluasi sediaan. Ekstrak daun
kelor diperoleh dari hasil ekstraksi melalui proses maserasi menggunakan etanol 96%,
karakterisasi ekstrak meliputi uji kadar air, kadar abu total, kadar sari larut air, dan
kadar sari larut etanol. Uji evaluasi sediaan meliputi uji organoleptik, uji homogenitas,
uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat, uji viskositas, dan uji iritasi yang dilakukan
selama 4 minggu. Uji aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan metode 2,2-diphenyl-1-
picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai IC50 ekstrak daun kelor
sebesar 9,029 μg/mL dengan kadar air 9,2%, kadar abu total 1,33%, kadar sari larut
air 6,66% dan kadar sari larut etanol 25,8%. Sediaan hand and body lotion di
formulasikan kedalam 2 formula dengan konsentrasi ekstrak sebesar 2× nilai IC50 dan
4× nilai IC50. Hasil pengujian aktivitas antioksidan terhadap masing-masing formula
didapatkan bahwa F0 memiliki nilai IC50 sebesar 219,63 μg/mL, F1 memiliki nilai IC50
sebesar 63,74 μg/mL dan F2 memiliki nilai IC50 sebesar 28,71 μg/mL. Berdasarkan
hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun kelor memiliki aktivitas
antioksidan yang sangat kuat. Hasil uji evaluasi sediaan hand and body lotion ekstrak
daun kelor menunjukkan bahwa F2 telah memenuhi semua parameter uji sediaan yang
baik dan memiliki nilai aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat.

Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera Lam.) contain compounds that have antioxidant activity so that they have the potential to be developed into cosmetic preparations for hand and body lotion that can provide moisture and protection for the skin. This study aims to determine the characteristics and activity values of Moringa leaf extract, then formulate Moringa leaf extract into dosage forms and body lotions and evaluate the preparations. Moringa leaf extract was obtained by extraction through a maceration process using 96% ethanol, the characterization of the extract included tests for water content, total ash content, water soluble extract content, and ethanol soluble extract content. Preparation evaluation tests included organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, pH tests, spreadability tests, adhesion tests, viscosity tests, irritation tests which were carried out for 4 weeks. Antioxidant activity test was carried out using the 2,2- diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. The results showed that the IC50 value of Moringa leaf extract was 9.029 μg/mL with a water of 9.2%, a total ash of 1.33%, a water soluble extract of 6.66% and an ethanol soluble extract of 25.8%. . Hand and body lotion preparations are formulated into 2 formulas with an extract concentration of 2× IC50 value and 4× IC50 value. The results of testing the antioxidant activity of each formula found that F0 had an IC50 value of 219.63 μg/mL, F1 had an IC50 value of 63.74 μg/mL and F2 had an IC50 value of 28.71 μg/mL. Based on research showing that the ethanol extract of Moringa leaves has a very strong antioxidant activity. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of Moringa leaves has a very strong antioxidant activity. The results of the evaluation test for the hand and body lotion of Moringa leaf extract showed that F2 met all the test parameters for a good preparation and had a very strong antioxidant activity value.
