Pemeliharaan jalan adalah pekerjaan yang dilakukan pada berbagai jalan untuk memastikan bahwa jalan tersebut tetap kuat, aman, dan efisien. Pemeliharaan Jalan Bertil Harding di Gambia telah menimbulkan minat karena posisinya sebagai jalan raya utama yang mengarah ke pusat komersial negara tersebut. Hubungan antara area produksi dan pasar juga meningkatkan akses ke fasilitas sosial dan ekonomi. Program pemeliharaan yang dilakukan bervariasi tergantung pada jenis pemeliharaan, penganggaran, dan frekuensi. Tidak adanya sedikit kehadirannya dalam program pemeliharaan telah menjadi bagian dari skema masalah tentang jenis kendaraan, pengoperasian, waktu, keandalan, dan pergerakan keselamatan lalu lintas. Untuk mengkaji situasi ini, analisis empiris dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan enam informan kunci untuk memahami semakin tingginya angka kecelakaan yang disebabkan oleh kondisi jalan yang buruk dan kemanjuran sistem manajemen pemeliharaan jalan raya yang telah dicermati. Dengan menggunakan penelitian wawancara, informan kunci menunjukkan bahwa budaya pengelolaan dan pemeliharaan jalan raya masih kurang. Meskipun telah ada rencana untuk merombak dan memperbaharui sistem operasi selama bertahun-tahun, jalan raya membutuhkan konsep inovatif dalam pengelolaan jalan.

ROAD MAINTENANCE OF BERTIL HARDING HIGHWAY IN THE GREATER BANJUL AREA OF THE GAMBIA Bayo Manneh 1904101010149 Civil Engineering Undergraduate Study Program Department of Civil Engineering–Faculty of Engineering Universitas Syiah Kuala Abstract Road maintenance is work that takes place on various roads to ensure that these roads remain strong, safe, and efficient. Bertil Harding Road Maintenance in the Gambia has stirred interest because of its position as a major highway that leads to the commercial of the country. The link it provides between areas of production and markets also enhances access to social and economic facilities. The maintenance program carried out is variably dependent on maintenance type, budgeting, and frequency. The absence of the little presence thereof in the maintenance program had been part of a scheme of problems about vehicle type, operation, time, reliability, and traffic safety movement. The problems with the authorities handling the road user complaints are that road users generally still use the traditional manual method of reporting maintenance work on both Bertil Harding Highway and other roads across the country. how can the Bertil Harding Highway road condition be improved by both routine and period activities done continuously and also maintenance works are done when damage occurs? To examine how the authorities handle the road users' complaints about Bertil Harding Highway with possible solutions for the maintenance and improvement of the road condition and also how to mix the design of hot Asphalt mixture in the highway laboratory for road maintenance. To analyze this situation an empirical analysis was drawn out through in-depth interviews with six key informants interview research showed that to assess the general conditions of the roads, countrywide surveys are carried out once every year and according to the key informants' periodic maintenance schedules for Bertil Harding highway are once every 5-6 year Although there have been plans to update the system of operations over the years, and according to the key informants all the routine maintenance can be seen treated as a priority in the maintenance programs of the authority, the highway needs innovative concepts on road maintenance management.
