Pencemaran sumber air telah menjadi masalah serius banyak negara di seluruh dunia. Salah satunya termasuk bagian pengolahan limbah Industri yaitu limbah tambang emas yang memberikan dampak terhadap pencemaran lingkungan. Pencemaran yang ditimbulkan dari dampak bahaya bagi lingkungan serta organisme sekitar yaitu merkuri (Hg). Merkuri memiliki sifat toksiknya, berdampak pada manusia maupun lingkungan sekitar, sehingga diperlukan solusi untuk penanganggan limbah merkuri tersebut. Fitoremediasi menjadi salah satu metode penanggulangannya yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan penyerapan logam berat sehingga dapat meningkatkan efesiensi daripada pengolahan air limbah yang lebih efektif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pH sekitar 7-8, konsentrasi limbah 100% dan 50% dan konsentrasi phosphate 10% yang terbaik terhadap laju pertumbuhan tumbuhan; Penurunan Hg terbaik adalah tanpa adanya penambahan phosphate, nilai Total Suspended Solid (TSS) yaitu 194 mg/L (
Pollution of the water source has become a serious problem for many nations around the world. One of them includes the waste treatment part of the industry, namely gold mining waste that has an effect on environmental pollution. The pollution caused by the harmful effects on the environment and surrounding organisms is mercury (Hg). Mercury has toxic properties, has an impact on humans and the surrounding environment, so a solution is needed to handle the mercury waste. Phytoremediation is one of the countermeasures that is expected to increase the absorption of heavy metals so as to increase the efficiency of more effective wastewater treatment. The results of this study showed pH around 7-8, 100% and 50% effluent concentration and 10% phosphate concentration were the best for the growth rate of aquatic plant (Pistia stratiotes L); The best reduction in Hg content was without the addition of phosphate, the value of Total Suspended Solid (TSS) was 194 mg/L (< 200 mg/L quality standard), the highest BCF value was obtained in the roots using 10% phosphate which reached 8.2 days 60, the efficiency of Hg heavy metal removal. Correlation results from Response Surface Methodology (RSM) using ANOVA on Hg concentration confirmed that the model was significant at P-value = 0.0470 (P-value < 0.05) for the model, which is 95% confidence level, R2 value = 0.829 with AB, A², B² are significant model terms meaning that the models are correlated. The desired optimization results (RSM) were adequate in predicting the optimum conditions for the input parameters. The highest Hg concentration of 0.023 mg-Hg/L was obtained from the optimum conditions of 8.577 effluent pH, effluent concentration of 52.448% and phosphate concentration of 14.444% which corresponds to a desirability function of 1. The Hg content contained in gold mine processing wastewater of 0.4 mg-Hg/L was reduced to 0.008 mg-Hg/L. (Quality Standard 0.005 mg-Hg/L). The efficiency of Hg is 98% which indicates that this plant is able to absorb heavy metal Hg well.
