Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis variasi bahasa kiasan
digunakan dalam film animasi dengan genre petualangan-komedi. Dalam studi kualitatif ini,
data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan lembar pengumpulan data. Ketiga film tersebut, yaitu The
Sea Beast (2022), Raya and the Last Dragon (2021), dan Onward (2020) adalah
objek penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua film tersebut mengandung kiasan
variasi bahasa. Film yang memuat temuan terbanyak adalah The Sea Beast
(2022) disusul film Raya and the Last Dragon (2021) di urutan kedua
tempat, dan Onward (2020) berada di posisi terakhir. Dengan mengacu pada teori Mezo
(1999), data diklasifikasikan. Klasifikasi menunjukkan kiasan itu
perbandingan (metafora, perumpamaan, personifikasi) merupakan kategori yang paling banyak ditemukan dalam
film. Di peringkat kedua adalah substitusi kiasan (metonymy). Figuratif
berlebihan (hiperbola) berada di peringkat ketiga. Pembagian data mengenai
klasifikasinya meata.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the variations of figurative language used in animated movies with the adventure-comedy genre. In this qualitative study, the data were collected using data collection sheets. The three movies, namely The Sea Beast (2022), Raya and the Last Dragon (2021), and Onward (2020) were the objects of the study. The result showed that all of those movies contain figurative language variations. The movie containing the most findings was The Sea Beast (2022) followed by the movie of Raya and the Last Dragon (2021) in the second place, and Onward (2020) was in the last position. By referring to Mezo’s theory (1999), the data were classified. The classification showed that figurative comparison (metaphor, simile, personification) was the most category found in the movies. In the second rank was figurative substitution (metonymy). Figurative exaggeration (hyperbole) was in the third rank. The data distribution regarding the classification was even.
