Intercultural communication is essential to help people learn a new culture and communicate their own culture to other groups/countries. Intercultural communication strategies are used to overcome language barriers across cultures since many people have to misinterpret the new culture, intercultural communication is important to learn. The study aims to analyze intercultural communication strategies used between English and Indonesia in the movie Ali and Ratu Ratu Queens to make successful intercultural communication based on Berardo theory (2008). This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Types of research instrument that used in this research are documentation and observation. The result of this study indicated that there were four strategies showed in the movie which was suitable with Berardo theory. They were speak slowly and clearly, ask for clarification, frequently check for understanding and be specific. The characters showed miscommunication, misunderstanding, false in pronouncing English language, not understanding pronouncing english language, different used of custom in daily life between Indonesia and America such as in greetings, using gesture, knock on home door, giving thanks and so on. The characters also showed the outcome through communication and behavior in facing cross cultural situation effectively and appropriately.
