Strategi guru merupakan salah satu aspek sentral yang membantu siswa mengembangkan kompetensinya. Salah satu strategi guru untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa adalah strategi Chain Writing dan strategi ini menjadi obyek pada penelitian ini. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menyelidiki implementasi strategi Chain Writing, masalah yang dihadapi guru dan siswa, dan solusi untuk memecahkan masalah tersebut. Metode deskriptif kualitatif diterapkan dan subjek penelitiannya adalah seorang guru bahasa Inggris di SMA Laboratorium USK Banda Aceh. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara dengan pedoman wawancara, dan lembar observasi. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis dengan interpretasi deskriptif setelah data coding, shorting, display, dan pengambilan kesimpulan. Hasilnya terungkap tujuh poin utama yang mendukung keberhasilan penerapan strategi Chain Writing, tiga tantangan guru, empat masalah siswa, dan tujuh solusi untuk memecahkan masalah. Penelitian ini diakhiri dengan meringkas bagaimana peneliti menjawab pertanyaan penelitian dan mencapai tujuan penelitian dalam kesimpulan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa guru menerapkan Strategi Chain Writing berdasarkan RPP dan prosedur yang telah disiapkan dengan baik sehingga tujuan pembelajaran dapat tercapai.

Teacher’s strategy is one of a central aspect that help students’ develop their competencies. One of the teacher’s strategies that enhance students’ writing skills is Chain Writing strategy and this strategy has been the object of the researches. In this study, the researcher investigated its implementation, problems that the teacher and the students faces, and solution to solve the problems. A qualitative descriptive method was applied and the subject of research is an English teacher at SMA Laboratorium of USK Banda Aceh. The data was collected by doing an observation, interview by using documentation, interview guide, and observation sheet. The collected data was then analysed by descriptive interpretation after data coding, shorting, display and taking conclusion. The results revealed seventh main points that support the success of the implementation of Chain Writing strategy, three teacher’s challenges, four students’ problems, and seven solution to solve the problems. This study was end-up by summarizing how the researcher answered the research questions and met the research objectives in the conclusion. The results implied that the teacher implemented the Chain Writing Strategy based on the well-prepared lesson plan and procedure so that the learning objective can be achieved.
