Hewan pengotor Teritip yang menempel pada substrat kayu di lambung kapal dapat menimbulkan penurunan kecepatan, peningkatan konsumsi bahan bakar, dan penurunan efisiensi kapal. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kekerasan sifat Teritip yang akan mengubah bentuk aliran yang dilewati lambung kapal dari laminer menjadi turbulen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis, kepadatan, dan laju penempelan dari Teritip, serta pengaruh dari perbandingan beberapa cat yang digunakan pada substrat kayu. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), yaitu berupa perlakuan dan perbedaan pengunaan pelapisan cat anti fauling pada substrat kayu. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan satu jenis spesies Teritip Amphibalanus Reticulatus. Dimana pada setiap substrat dengan jenis cat yang berbeda, diperoleh nilai rata-rata kepadatan tertinggi pada substrat jenis cat Envi sebesar 7087,5±1573,3 Ind/m2 dan nilai kepadatan terendah pada substrat jenis cat Nippon sebesar 525±247,5 Ind/m2. Kemudian rata-rata nilai laju penempelan Teritip tertinggi pada substrat jenis cat Envi sebesar 516,07 ± 184,35 Ind/m2/minggu dan rata-rata nilai laju penempelan Teritip terendah pada substrat jenis cat Nippon sebesar 48,21 ± 37,89 Ind/m2/minggu.

Barnacles that stick to the wood substrate of the ship’s hull can cause a decrease in speed, increase in fuel consumption, and decrease in ship efficiency. This is caused by the hardness of Barnacles which will change the shape of the flow that the hull passes from laminar to turbulent. This study aims to determine the type, density, and the adhesion rate of Barnacles, as well as the effect of the comparison of several paints used on wood substrates. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consisted of treatments and differences in the use of anti-fouling paint coatings on wood substrates. The results of this study found one species of Barnacle Amphibalanus Reticulatus species. Where on each substrate with a different type of paint, the highest average density value was obtained on the Envi paint type substrate of 7087.5 ± 1573.3 Ind/m2 and the lowest density value on the Nippon paint type substrate of 525 ± 247.5 Ind/ m2. Then the average value of the highest Barnacles adhesion rate was on the Envi paint type substrate of 516.07 ± 184.35 Ind/m2/week and the lowest average Barnacle attachment rate value was on the Nippon paint type substrate of 48.21 ± 37.89 Ind /m2/week.
