The researcher found that the students of class VIII have problems with speaking in pronunciation and fluency aspects. The researcher is interested in conducting this research by using Just a Minute Technique. This study aims to determine whether the use of the Just a Minute technique can improve students' speaking skills in terms of fluency and pronunciation in learning English. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design. The sample of this research was class VIII-2 students, totaling 30 students. The research instrument used to obtain data in this study was pretest and posttest. The test given was the speaking test. The students were given a topic to students and they spoke about the topic within one minute without hesitation, deviation, and repetition (Dixon, 2014). The results of the speaking test showed that the average pre-test score was 42.33 while the average post-test score was 63.33. The significance value obtained is Sig. (P-value) = 0.000 < α = 0.05. It can be concluded that if Ho is rejected, then Ha is accepted. This shows that the use of the Just a Minute technique improves students' speaking skills in aspects of fluency and pronunciation at MTsN 2 Banda Aceh.
