Beberapa aspek kemampuan pada matematika yang penting untuk dikuasai siswa pada abad 21 salah satunya yaitu kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Kenyataan menunjukkan bahwasanya pemahaman konsep matematis siswa masih rendah. Oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu alternatif dalam memilih model pembelajaran, salah satunya yaitu dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe numbered head together dengan strategi peer lesson. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh positif penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe numbered heads together dengan strategi peer lesson terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 13 Banda Aceh. Pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif dengan jenis rancangan kuasi eksperimen dan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 13 Banda Aceh, sampel penelitian terpilih kelas eksperimen (VII-2) dan kelas kontrol (VII-3) melalui teknik random sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa pre-test dan post-test kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis berbentuk soal uraian. Teknik analisis data dilakukan uji-t pada taraf signifikansi 5% sesudah prasyarat pengujian terpenuhi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh t_hitung>t_(tabel ) atau 2,64 > 1,67, maka H0 ditolak. Sehingga menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe numbered heads together dengan strategi peer lesson terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 13 Banda Aceh.

Some aspects of ability in mathematics that are important for students to master in the 21st century, one of which is the ability to understand mathematical concepts. The fact shows that students' understanding of mathematical concepts is still low. Therefore an alternative is needed in choosing a learning model, one of which is by applying the cooperative learning model of the numbered head together type with the peer lesson strategy. This study aims to determine the positive effect of applying the cooperative learning model type numbered heads together with the peer lesson strategy on the understanding of mathematical concepts in class VII students of SMP Negeri 13 Banda Aceh. The approach used is quantitative with the type of quasi-experimental design and research design Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were students of class VII SMP Negeri 13 Banda Aceh, the research sample was selected experimental class (VII-2) and control class (VII-3) through random sampling technique. The research instrument was in the form of pre-test and post-test of ability to understand mathematical concepts in the form of essay questions. The data analysis technique was carried out by t-test at a significance level of 5% after the prerequisites for testing were fulfilled. Based on the research results obtained t_count>t_(table) or 2.64 > 1.67, then H0 is rejected. So it shows that there is a positive influence on the application of the cooperative learning model of the numbered heads together type with the peer lesson strategy on the understanding of mathematical concepts in class VII students of SMP Negeri 13 Banda Aceh.
