Tujuan penelitian ini berfokus pada lima jenis gaya bicara yang digunakan oleh tokoh utama dalam film Imperfect. Peneliti menggunakan kerangka teoritis dari Joos (1967), seperti yang dikutip oleh Rantung, Oli, dan Kumayas (2022), lima jenis gaya tutur yaitu gaya beku, gaya formal, gaya konsultatif, gaya santai, dan gaya akrab yang dihasilkan dalam kalimat “Imperfect”. film. Dalam melakukan penelitian ini, metode kualitatif deskriptif digunakan dan data diperoleh dengan menonton film dan membaca naskah film. Data dianalisis berdasarkan Miles, Huberman, dan Saldana (2014) yang terdiri dari pemadatan data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peneliti menemukan bahwa tokoh utama menggunakan gaya bicara dengan 90 ucapan. Jenis gaya bicara yang paling banyak digunakan adalah gaya santai dengan mewakili 43% atau 39 ucapan, selanjutnya diikuti gaya intim 42% atau 38 ucapan, gaya konsultatif 11% atau 10 ucapan, gaya formal 3% atau 3 ucapan, dan gaya beku 0%. Kesimpulannya, jenis gaya tutur yang paling dominan digunakan oleh tokoh utama adalah gaya santai.

The purpose of this research focuses on five types of speech styles used by the main character in the movie Imperfect. The researcher used the theoretical framework form Joos (1967), as cited by Rantung, Oli, and Kumayas (2022), five types speech styles namely frozen style, formal style, consultative style, casual style, and intimate style produced in the “Imperfect” movie. In conducting this research, the descriptive qualitative method was used and the data were obtained by watching the movie and reading the movie script. The data were analyzed based on Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2014) which consists of data condensation, data display, and drawing conclusions. The result showed that the researcher found that the main character used speech styles with 90 utterances. The most commonly types of speech style used is the casual style with represented 43% or 39 of utterances, next followed by the intimate style 42% or 38 of utterances, the consultative style 11% or 10 of utterances, the formal style 3% or 3 of utterances, and the frozen style 0 %. In conclusion, the type of speech style the most dominant used by the main character is casual style.
