Matematika juga termasuk ke dalam salah satu pelajaran penting yang berguna untuk mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dari sekolah dasar hingga pendidikan tinggi. Namun, pada kenyataannya tidak semua siswa memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang baik. Banyak siswa yang memahami informasi pada soal yang diberikan namun mengalami kesulitan untuk mengomunikasikan kembali informasi yang didapat ke dalam model matematika Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dapat dioptimalkan dan dikembangkan dengan menggunakan suatu pendekatan pembelajaran. Salah satu alternatif pendekatan yang memungkinkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis yaitu dengan pendekatan pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Penerapan dalam pendekatan CTL seperti inquiry, questioning, modelling, dan learning community yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan pembelajaran CTL terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi sistem persamaan linear tiga variabel (SPLTV) di SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantatitaf dengan desain pre-experimental design dan menggunakan jenis penelitian one-group pretest-posttest. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X MIPA SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Banda Aceh, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik non probability sampling, sehingga sampel penelitian sebanyak 20 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan pretest sebelum penerapan pendekatan CTL dan posttest setelah penerapan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji t-test. Hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa terdapat peningkatan rata-rata dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan pendekatan CTL. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran CTL berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.

Mathematics is also included in one of the important lessons which is useful for developing students' mathematical communication skills from elementary school to higher education. However, in reality not all students have good mathematical communication skills. Many students understand the information in the questions given but have difficulty communicating the information back into the mathematical model. Students' mathematical communication skills can be optimized and developed using a learning approach. One alternative approach that allows you to improve your mathematical communication skills is the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach. Application in the CTL approach such as inquiry, questioning, modeling, and learning community that can improve mathematical communication skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the CTL learning approach on students' mathematical communication skills in the material of a three-variable linear equation system (SPLTV) at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Banda Aceh. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design and uses a one-group pretest-posttest type of research. The research population was all students of class X MIPA SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Banda Aceh, with the sampling technique using non-probability techniques sampling, so that the research sample was 20 students. The data collection technique uses a pretest before the application of the CTL approach and a posttest after application. The data analysis technique uses the t-test. The results of data analysis showed that there was an increase in average and mathematical communication skills between before and after the CTL approach was applied. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the CTL learning approach affects students' mathematical communication abilities. Keywords: CTL, Mathematical Communication Ability, SPLTV
