Literasi asuransi merupakan suatu pemahaman masyarakat tentang asuransi. Di Indonesia, pemahaman tentang asuransi masih sangat kurang sehingga diperlukan edukasi tentang asuransi agar masyarakat dapat memahami manfaat dari asuransi. Tekait permasalahan ini, penulis ingin melihat tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa FMIPA tentang asuransi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teori uji klasik yaitu uji validitas dan reliabilitas konsistensi internal serta digunakan juga metode item response theory dengan pendekatan satu parameter logistik uji yang sering disebut dengan istilah Rasch modelling untuk melihat kelayakan butir soal yang digunakan. Berdasarkan hasil tes kalibrasi dengan menggunakan Rasch modelling, item characteristic curve, test characteristic curve, dan test information function didapatkan bahwa pada dasarnya keseluruhan tes sudah cukup baik, kecuali terdapat dua butir soal tes yang masih kurang baik dan harus diteliti lebih lanjut. Didapatkan juga hasil dari pengujian validitas dan reliabilitas yaitu semua butir soal yang digunakan valid serta respon responden memiliki tingkat reliabilitas konsistensi internal yang sangat baik. Hasil yang didapatkan berdasarkan uji yang telah dilakukan yaitu kualitas dari instrumen soalnya sudah cukup layak untuk menggambarkan tingkat literasi asuransi mahasiswa dan terdapat 79,43% mahasiswa FMIPA Universitas Syiah Kuala sudah paham tentang asuransi dan terdapat 20,56% mahasiswa yang masih kurang paham tentang asuransi.

Insurance literacy is a society's understanding of insurance. In Indonesia, the understanding of insurance is still very lacking, so there is a need for education about insurance so that people can understand the benefits of insurance. Regarding this problem, the author wants to see the level of understanding of FMIPA students about insurance. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method with classical test theory, namely validity and reliability tests of internal consistency and the item response theory method with a one-parameter logistic test approach which is often referred to as Rasch modeling to investigate the feasibility of the items used. Based on the results of calibration tests using Rasch modeling, item characteristic curve, test characteristics curve, and test information functions, it was found that basically the whole test was quite good, except for two test items that were still not good and should be investigated further. The results of the validity and reliability testing are also obtained, all the items used are valid and participant responses have a very good level of internal consistency reliability. The results obtained based on the tests that have been carried out, namely the quality of the instrument, the question is adequate enough to describe the level of student insurance literacy and there are 79.43% students of FMIPA Syiah Kuala University already understand about insurance and there are 20.56% of students who still do not understand insurance.
