Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis humor yang terdapat dalam novel Yang Mesti Dibenci itu Cinta karya Albait Mubaroq. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deksriptif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah 99 peristiwa yang terdapat dalam novel Yang Mesti Dibenci itu Cinta karya Albait Mubaroq. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam novel Yang Mesti Dibenci itu Cinta karya Albait Mubaroq terdapat 33 humor yang terdiri dari empat jenis, yaitu (1) humor berdasarkan kriteria maksud dalam komunikasi yang meliputi a) si penyampai memang bermaksud melucu, dan si penerima menerima sebagai lelucon, dan (b) si penyampai bermaksud melucu, namun si penerima tidak menganggap lucu, (2) humor berdasarkan kriteria bahan meliputi, a) humor seksual, dan (b) humor teka-teki, (3) humor berdasarkan topiknya yaitu, humor etika atau moral, dan (4) humor berdasarkan cara penyampaiannya yaitu, humor yang bersifat halus. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa humor yang paling banyak muncul dalam novel Yang Mesti Dibenci itu Cinta karya Albait Mubaroq adalah humor yang bersifat halus, yaitu sebanyak 20 humor.

This study aims to determine the types of humor in the novel Yang Mesti Dibenci itu Cinta by Albait Mubaroq. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The source of the data in this study are 99 events contained in the novel Yang Mesti Dibenci itu Cinta by Albait Mubaroq. The form of data in this study is in the form of words, sentences, or paragraphs in the 99 events related to humor. Data collection was carried out using content analysis. The result of the study show that in the novel Yang Mesti Dibenci itu Cinta by Albait Mubaroq there are 33 humors consisting of four types, namely: (1) humor based on the criteria of intent in communication which includes, a) the sender intends to be funny and the recipient accepts it as a joke, and b) the sender means to be funny but the recipient doesn’t think it’s funny, (2) humor based on material criteria includes, a) sexual humor, and b) riddles humor, (3) humor based on the topic, namely ethical or moral humor, and (4) humor based on the way it is delivered, namely subtle humor. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the humor that appears the most in the novel Yang Mesti Dibenci itu Cinta by Albait Mubaroq is the subtle humor which is as many as 20 humors.
