ABSTRAK Abstract of Final Paper Submitted to The Examination Committe in Partial Fulfilment of The Reguiment for The Degree of Master of Manajemen on Graduate Program of Syiah Kuala University WORK ENGAGEMENT AND GOVERNANCE OF THE BANK IN IMPROVING EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE ON THE QUALITY OF THE PERFORMANCE OF RURAL BANKS IN BANDA ACEH AND ACEH BESAR By: FAUZAN NPM : 1801202010054 Specialization : General Management Supervisor : Dr. Said Musnadi, M.Si Co-Supervisor : Dr. Faisal, SE.,M.Si.,MA This study attempts to explore and examine the impact of the work engagement of the POJK (Financial Services Authority Regulation) on good corporate governance to improve human resource performance and its contribution to the performance of the People's Pengkreditasn Bank organizations in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar. The research sample was determined proportionally from four BPR branches in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar, totaling 150 employees. Subsequent data were analyzed through Software AMOS with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. There are two test models analyzed, namely direct and indirect. Based on the test results directly show that work engagement and corporate governance affect employee performance and organizational performance. Then, employee performance also significantly affects organizational performance. Furthermore, employee performance has a significant mediation in the effect of work engagement and corporate governance on organizational performance. We provide managerial implications for BPR banks in general, that in order to improve organizational performance, management needs to create HR governance through work engagement and good corporate governance in accordance with applicable regulations from POJK. Meanwhile, in order for POJK to be properly absorbed, OJK needs to increase the intensity and sustainability of OJK in conducting outreach to BPRs, especially Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar.
