Polifarmasi adalah peresepan lima atau lebih jenis obat secara bersama-sama yang sering ditemukan pada lansia. Polifarmasi sering dijumpai pada pasien geriatri dengan kondisi multiple organ disease. Gejala depresi dapat terjadi sebagai akibat dari kecemasan dari penggunaan obat maupun efek samping dari banyaknya obat yang diresepkan pada geriatri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan polifarmasi dengan kejadian depresi pada pasien geriatri yang berobat di Puskesmas Kuta Alam Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini merupakan analitik observasional dengan menggunakan desain cross sectional. Teknik penelitian ini menggunakan metode non-probability sampling dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah responden penelitian sebanyak 57 responden. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan November hingga Desember 2021 melalui wawancara pada pasien geriatri yang berobat di Puskesmas Kuta Alam Banda Aceh. Hasil uji statistik menggunakan uji chi square menunjukan p-value = 0,000 untuk hubungan polifarmasi dengan kejadian depresi pada pasien geriatri yang berobat di Puskesmas Kuta Alam Banda Aceh. Kesimpulan terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara polifarmasi dengan kejadian depresi pada pasien geriatri yang berobat di Puskesmas Kuta Alam Banda Aceh.

Polypharmacy is the prescribing of five or more types of drugs together which is often found in the elderly. Polypharmacy is often found in geriatric patients with multiple organ disease conditions. Symptoms of depression can occur as a result of anxiety from drug use or as a side effect of the many medications prescribed to geriatrics. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between polypharmacy and the incidence of depression in geriatric patients seeking treatment at the Kuta Alam Public Health Center, Banda Aceh. This research is an observational analytic using a cross sectional design. This research technique uses non-probability sampling method with purposive sampling technique with the number of research respondents as many as 57 respondents. This research was conducted from November to December 2021 through interviews with geriatric patients seeking treatment at the Kuta Alam Health Center in Banda Aceh. The results of statistical tests using the Chi Square test showed p-value = 0.000 for the relationship between polypharmacy and the incidence of depression in geriatric patients who were treated at the Kuta Alam Public Health Center, Banda Aceh. The conclusion is that there is a significant between polypharmacy and the incidence of depression in geriatric patients who seek treatment at the Kuta Alam Public Health Center, Banda Aceh.
